Malarie's P.O.V
As I glanced up at the clock in the corner of the room, i began to countdown the seconds until the bell would ring and we'd all be released to go and eat.
"Three...two...one..."
The second i heard that familiar ringing my eyes lit up with joy as I dashed over to Jacob and began to drag him from his desk.
"Come onnnnnnnnnn," "Let's goooooo" I whined.
"Yeah yeah, sure, i'll just be a sec" he replied.
Ugh. Anytime he said that he always took forever to get up. So there was only one thing to do, one thing that always worked. I bent down on one knee, when right up to his ear and whispered
"Kitten..."
He immediately jumps up, his face as red as a tomato and begins to hurry out of the classroom. As we head to our favourite lunchtime spot, we run past him. Noah. The biggest dickhead, bully and playboy of the school. We run past him, hoping that he didn't have the chance to notice us. Unfortunately, Jacob accidentally brushes his shoulder against Noahs.
"Watch it retard!" Noah sneers, shoving Jacob roughly
As we arrive at the roof door, he sprints towards our favourite spot, our special spot.
Most people don't even know how rare this spot is because of how hidden it is. It gives us a sublime view of the cherry blossoms and a view of the surrounding city. We then proceed to take out our lunches and swap some things around, as we always have done.
Soon after we finish eating our food, we then talk about normal stuff, you know, like best friends do. Well, normal isn't the word i'd use to describe it we'd usually talk and talk until until half of lunch was gone but this time we spoke slowly. Just this once, only this once, we were silent. The silence wasn't awkward in any way. I've just never really taken this time to just breath...
Suddenly, he breaks the silence.
"Malarie... I can tell you anything, right?"
"Of course you can dummy. I'm all ears."
He goes silent once again.
"Welllllllllllllllll???" I gush out.
"I kinda..." he pauses once more.
"Spit it outtt!" I say louder than expected.
He takes a deep breath.
"Malarie, I kinda, sorta maybe like Ava..."
"hUh"
