Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful princess. She was loved by many but she yearned to escape the sheltered life she was restricted to. So one night, the young princess snuck out of her castle and left to the Oceanside. She met a mermaid who promised her that she could explore the sea only if she promised that she would never come back to the surface again. The naive princess said yes and was dragged beneath the surface. What the princess didn't know was that she couldn't breathe under water, so she struggled uselessly against the cunning mermaid who had tricked her. The mermaid laughed and the princess was overcome with darkness and she never opened her eyes again.
