Friend's Story

Chapter 7

Aviss woke up early and walked into the yard and looked at the water bottles. "That was horseshit." He then knocked them down. He spent the next few hours perfect his sand clones. To Aviss, they were a key part to help him fight, like pawns in a chess game. "hopefully Dylon doesn't cheese his way like that again. You gonna try and kick his ass next time we fight him?" Aviss asked. The clones nodded and saluted him. Aviss then made them dissipate and went inside to wait for the others to wake up.

Hours later, Aviss and Aro were causally sparring, not putting too much work into their fight and Dylon was on the floor watching them spar with Ahri and Kai, still recovering. After a brief moment, Aviss wiped his face with a towel and went inside to get water for him and Aro. "Hey tumbleweed." Aviss said kicking his foot. "Hey! He's trying to recover!" Ahri said getting up, "whoa didn't mean to get you riled up!" Aviss said backing up, "besides he's part reptile. They recover fast." Aviss said. "Not fast enough." Dylon said as he checked his wound, it was making a steady pace but Dylon wished it would go a lot faster. On the bright side, he had Ahri and Kai babying him which he really didn't mind since he has never been pampered like this. "You're treating him like a baby, you're gonna spoil him." Aviss said pointing to Dylon. "No we aren't. He'll get back once he's fully recovered." Kai said as she squished his cheeks. Dylon simply nodded with his squished cheeks and stuck his tongue out playfully. Aviss rolled his eyes and got the water bottles. He then handed two bottles to Evelynn and Akali who were watching Aro and Aviss fight. "Can't believe we lost to one guy." Akali said. "He's got some dark intentions if he gets Aviss's staff." Evelynn said as she drank some water. "Now that I realize it, where is he? If he wanted the staff so bad wouldn't he finish the job?" Akali asked. "Maybe he knows we'll kick his ass this time around." Dylon chimed in. "No, it wouldn't take much to finish you off right now Dylon." Evelynn said with a sick grin, Dylon immediately retreated back into his blanket. "You're lucky I can't fight back..." he muttered. "Maybe he's just waiting it out?" Kai said. "Waiting till Aviss goes outside and attacks him." She added. "It could be he doesn't want to make this a personal matter." Aro said as he parried an attack. "After all, it seemed as though he didn't want to fight us, just take the staff and go. Since we refused, he retaliated." Aro said. "Well that's stupid!" Aviss said. He then swung low at Aro's feet, he then jumped and stood on the staff and winked at Aviss. "Predictable." Aro said. Aviss then summoned a sand clone and tackled him from behind. "What the?!" Aro exclaimed as he fell. "Oh I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?" Aviss said as he raised an eyebrow. Aro simply gave him the finger and Aviss helped him up. "You know, I bet you wished that you could do that to Akali." Aro whispered to Aviss, he immediately got smacked by his childhood friend. "Shut your face before I pimp slap you." Aviss said raising his hand. "Calm down calm down." Aro said laughing, "you know, it's normal to develop feelings. You don't have to be a soulless shell of a man." Aro said as he summoned a sword with his magic. "Not to me. I like being alone, why do you think I needed my own breathing space for a while." Aviss said. "What're you talking about?" Akali asked as she perked up. "Aviss thinks he's better off alone." Aro said. "What am I chopped liver?!" Dylon said. "No you're more of a brown and bruised banana." Aviss said. Dylon simply flipped Aviss off. "What? How can you say something like that! Don't you believe in love?" Ahri said, leaning on Dylon's wound, to which he just yelped. "Sorry cowboy."

"Love is over-rated. You spend your life with someone and to what? Kiss them? Love them?" Aviss said.

"To bring my charisma up." Aro said. "Ah a true gamer." Aviss said laughing. "Boys are stupid." Evelynn muttered to Akali as then boys just laughed at their stupid joke. "I don't get your sense of humor." Kai said as she got up to get some ramen out for everyone. "Don't worry about it." Aro said.

The girls decided to help Dylon get better by taking him down to doctor they knew. "We'll be right back." Akali said as she waved at the two and left them alone. "Real talk. You want to get with her." Aro said as he smacked his hands on the table. "No I don't." Aviss said. Aro slammed his fist, "bullshit! You wouldn't have saved her if you didn't care a little. Hell, me and Dylon have been in more deathly situations and you sat back and watched." Aro said. "Aviss opened his mouth to retaliate but got nothing, for once, Aro had him. "Ok, so maybe I kinda like her a little." Aviss said. "Man, you gotta stop thinking that you're this one man army and that you don't need anyone. Remember when we first met?" Aro said. "Yeah...you were a troubled little shit." Aviss said laughing. "Yeah always trying to do my best but getting shafted. Always 'you can do better.'" Aro said as he got up to get Aviss and himself some ramen. "My parents were always tough on me in school and in life and my dad was never proud of me. Once, my dad asked me, 'son how old are you?' I then replied 6, he then told me 'when I was your age I was 7.'" He said. Aviss just laughed his ass off and wiped a tear from his eye, "I refuse to believe that." Aviss said trying to catch his breath. Aro crosses his arms and raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, sure your parents are rough but you ran with the wrong crowd." Aviss said. "Only cause i was tired of my parents, but I realized that was a pretty shitty decision." Aro said. "I don't know why you ran with them...specially when I was offering my friendship." Aviss said shrugging. "Thinking I'm a good ally isn't an invitation for a friendship! Have you ever had friends before me?!" Aro asked. "I'm not obliged to answer that." Aviss said getting up to get the now cooked ramen. "After I saved your dumbass from those old assholes I called 'friends' then yeah we became close." Aro said. "I still find it hard to believe that you discovered your magic after you hit puberty." Aviss said snickering. "Hey I'm a late bloomer! That's what my mom said." Aro said. Aviss just simply rolled his eyes and ate some of the ramen. "So what other fancy spells did you learn?" Aviss questioned. "Well portals were rather difficult, took a bit of power so that's probably not gonna happen for a while until I actually learn to use the power properly. So weapons, and some glyphs that can restore your energy and get you healthy." Aro said. "So why didn't you try and heal Dylon?" Aro shook his head, "whatever the blade was coated in, didn't let me heal him." Aro said eating his food.

The girls eventually came back with Dylon who has some gauze and cream placed on his abdomen. "I can't bend forward." He said with a sad face. Aro and Aviss laughed, the girls and Dylon ate while Aviss and Aro sparred. Although the three friends argue and fight, they will always be brother in arms.
