THERE WAS THIS saying how you should be thankful you woke up today, but waking up alive with a sore body was not something to be thankful for. Maybe life suddenly felt like giving me karma for all the bad things I have done. Have I done anything bad this month? Other than a can or two of beer from some parties, I don't think I have done anything remotely bad. My body was completely unaware of its own pain tolerance.

Breathe in. Breathe out. It'll be over soon, just bare with it.

I actually lost track on the amount of sleep I actually had. An adult needed about 5-7 hours of sleep to at least be able to function normally. An infant needed around 10 hours or more of sleep while a teen like me needed about 7-8. Considering that I wasn't actually able to continue my sleep after waking up at literally 2 in the morning, I don't think today was going to be good day. However, these numbers were just mere recommendations and I let that thought act as a placebo to get me through the day—that and coffee too.

Even if mom said that I shouldn't go to school today, I insisted. There was no way I'm going to allow myself to lag behind. No fucking way.

English Lit was fourth period and it was one of the very few classes I had with either Will or Asher on it. For this class, I was glad I had Will with me.

"Will," I whispered, kicking the leg of the chair diagonal to me.

"Will." I whispered loudly again that even Mrs. Robins turned around and eyed me.

I gave a small smile then ducked my head in embarrassment, I hated these types of situation where I felt powerless. Luckily, she turned back around and just proceeded to the lecture. I thought she was going to call me out.

"William, what the heck? Do you not hear me?" I whispered to him again, kicking the leg of his chair more discreetly.

"Did you just call me William?" he said, clearly amused.

I rolled my eyes. Something I envy about Will was that he's really laid back and manages to get along with everybody. He doesn't judge people and always puts others before him. I remembered one time during a test in statistics, Asher forgot his calculator. It was also during this time when Asher's grades were spiraling down fast.

Will literally ran to the library to buy one, however it was out of stock. So, Will gave his to Asher and answered the test without his calculator. Will still got an A on that test. How he managed to answer those math problems so fast was still a mystery to me.

"I was just messing with you," he chuckled. "Anyways, what is it?"

"I need your notes in chem, the one you took during Monday," I replied.

He nodded before taking his notebook from his string bag and passing it to me. I took it and pictured it first using my phone, just in case I wouldn't finish copying it. We weren't allowed to use our phones, but many students have found a way to not get caught.

Will sighed and placed his hand through his blonde hair, clearly distressed. I raised my eyebrow at him. "I know you're like kind of uncomfortable right now-" he started but I cut him off, "You mean sick, but not really knowing what disease or virus is currently making you feel like shit?"

He fell silent but continued anyway, knowing that I purposely tried to shoo him off. "Yea man, it's just that if you need anything from me and Asher, we're here for you." he said stuttering ever so slightly on some words.
