Estelwen (Alastegiel) POV

“Arwen is dying." Lord Elrond says sadly. I look over to Aragorn and see the most saddest expression on his face. I can't believe it, Arwen can't die. “She will not long survive the evil that now from Mordor. The light of the evenstar is failing. As Sauron's power grows, her strength wanes. Arwen's life is now tied to the fate of the Ring. The shadows is upon us, Aragorn and Est- Alastegiel."

“It's ok, he knows, Lord Elrond." I say.

He nods his head and continues speaking, “The end has come."

“It will not be our end, but his." Aragorn says.

“You ride to war, but not to victory. Sauron's armies march on Minas Tirith, this you know. But in secret he sends another force which will attack from the river. A fleet of Corsair ships sails from the south. They'll be in the city in two days. Your outnumbered, Aragorn and Estelwen. You need more men." Lord Elrond Warns us.

“There are none." Aragorn says.

“There are those who dwell in the mountain." Elrond says.

“Murders, traitors. You would call upon them to fight? They believe in nothing. They answer to no one." Aragorn asks.

“They will answer to the King of Gondor." Lord Elrond says as he takes out a sword. “Andúril, the Flame of the West, forged from the shards of Narsil."

Aragorn walks closer and stares for a minute at the sword before taking it. “Sauron will not have forgotten the Sword of Elendil." He then takes the sword out of its sheath and holds it in front of him. “The blade that was broken shall return to Minas Tirith."

“The man who can wield the power of this sword can summon an army more deadly than any that walks this Earth. Put aside the Ranger. Become who you were born to be. Take the Dimholt road. Ónen i-Estel Edain. (I give hope to Men.)" Lord Elrond tells Aragorn.

“Ú-chebin anim. (I keep none for myself.)" Aragorn says, and sheaths his sword.

“I need to talk to you, Estelwen." Elrond says to me. I give him a nod.

“I'll be there in a few minutes, Aragorn." I say to him as Aragorn leaves the tent. “What is it, Lord Elrond?"

“I know you are not going to like this, but there is something else I have foreseen. After this battle, if you do win, there will be another war at the Black Gate. And in that battle, you could loose some of those you love.  There is a way to prevent it and it has to do with your friends, the animals. During the battle of Minas Tirith, I need you to leave before it is over. And you have to assemble an army of animals. Then bring them to the Black Gate. You may not tell anyone of this, okay? Yes they will think you are dead. But they can't know, and there is a good reason why. Do you understand what you have to do?" Lord Elrond informs me.

I give a sigh before answering, “Yes, I do my Lord Elrond. And, even though I don't like doing this to my friends, if it means saving them then I am going to do it." I say with as much courage as I can muster.

“Good luck, Estelwen. And keep safe."

“Thank you, Lord Elrond." I say before I go to fetch my horse and join Aragorn. I am going with him whether he like it or not.

When I get my horse ready and find him, we head to the Dimholt road. We get stopped by Gimli saying to us, “Just where do you think you're off to?"

“Not this time. This time you must stay, Gimli." Aragorn says to him. Then, Legolas walks up to us with his horse and says, “Have you learned nothing of the stubbornness of Dwarves?"

“You might as well accept it. We're going with you, laddie." He then turns to me, “And lassie."

I would normally of smiled, but not this time. All that kept going through my mind was what Lord Elrond told me. I just hope I will be able to keep all of my friends safe.
