Charlee was blaring Maroon Five on the highway. And my blaring I mean I was pretty sure that my ears were bleeding.

But baby there you again, there you again making me love you

Yeah I stopped using my head, using my head let it all go

Got you stuck on my body, on my body like a tattoo

And now i'm feeling stupid, feeling stupid crawling back to you

So I cross my heart, and I hope to die, that I'll only stay with you one more night

And I know I said it a million times

But i'll only stay with you one more night

Charlee was trying to sing, I give her credit for that, but she should really just her mouth for other things, and leave the singing for the professionals.

She weaved in and out of traffic and sang horrible along with the song, but at that moment I didn’t care, I was out of Harmony away from the hot professors, away from waking wet dreams, and I was having fun! The song finished and transitioned to another one as Charlee expertly maneuvered her way in and out of traffic.

After a moment of Skillet singing about monsters, what in the world did this girl have on her ipod, she turned the stereo down. “So,” she said, she looked at me before cutting someone off. They honked their horn at her and she responded by flipping him or her or whoever it was off. “What made you want to party hardy with me Miss Charlee?” she asked.

The cars in front of her learned quickly and turned their signals on to move into the left and right lanes leaving the middle one open for her. She pressed the gas down, going well over the speed limit. “Cam broke up with me,” I told her. She laughed at that. “Its about damn time, he was always such a pansy ass, you need a real man!” she said. Ezra popped into my mind and my fingers from my right hand instantly went to touch the brand on my finger.

“Whats that?” Charlee asked. She picked up my hand and brought it into her line of view. “Whoa,” she said and she dropped her hands from the wheel. “Charlee the wheel!” I screeched. She instantly snapped out of her little reverie and she grabbed the wheel, righting the car before it crashed into the opposite lane.

“Is that a brand?” she asked. I had no idea what it was but I knew it wasn’t going anywhere any time soon. “Yes,” I said, “it’s a brand, I got it a while back while I was drunk at some frat party,” Yeah, that was a lie but why not go for gold right? Go big or go home? Charlee looked at me like she didn’t believe a word I said and I shifted uncomfortably in my seat.

I looked around, at her speed and by the look of the scenery we were only about an hour or so  from Rayleigh. “Who is he?” Charlee asked out of no where. I looked at her. “I don’t know what you mean,” I told her. “I know for a fact that you wouldn’t want to get shit faced over Cam, so its over someone else, who is he?” she said.

The thing about Charlee is she had a way of getting you to talk. And it was working. It was like word vomit spewing out of my mouth. “Its Two he’s,” I admitted. Charlee nodded and kept her eyes on the road. “One’s…my Lit Professor and the other is my Physics Professor ,” I said softly.

“Damn girl,” Charlee said grinning. “No Charlee you don’t understand, I didn’t intend to like them, actually I tried to stay away, somehow they both got my number, and text me ALL the time, Jax, my Lit teacher followed meout on my morning run today and he ended up convincing me to go out for coffee and Ezra, he just…I cant get him out of my mind.” I stopped talking and closed my eyes. School hadn’t even been in session for a month and it felt like a year.

“Do you like one more then the other?” Charlee asked. I thought about that. Did I? I thought about Jax. He made me feel like I was in high school again, he didn’t act his age, he was carefree and funny and adorable. But Ezra, the star of my erotic daydreams, night dreams, wet dreams and every dream in between, he was closer to me on a more intimate level. He made my blood boil and my body hum, but did I like one more the other? I obviously liked them both but I could choose?

“I don’t know,” I admitted. Charlee looked at me. “You are so going to get shit faced tonight, love,” she told me. I laughed. That’s the answer to all of Charlee’s problems and tonight it was the answer to mine.
