First Chapter

It was a gloomy, rainy day.

Elder Kim's funeral had just ended.

Outside the mourning hall, Kang Jia stood in the rain without an umbrella, the rain flowing down her hair.

"Jia, you killed grandpa. The evidence is clear. Why are you acting all sad now?"

Lim Min Ji, who could barely be considered a relative of the Kim family, was looking mournful.

A servant held an umbrella for her as she pointed at Jia.

Jia sneered but did not respond.

Lim Mi Sun slowly approached and slapped her in the face. She said, "Grandfather's medicine was changed. Before he died, you were the only one who went to his bedroom. What else do you have to say?"

The rain fell on Jia's swollen face and intensified the pain. However, she glared at Lim Mi Sun coldly and did not bother to explain.

"I didn't kill him."

She had been married to Kim Taehyung for five years and had tried her best, but the Kim family still did not like her.

Especially her grandmother, Lim Mi Sun. Lim Mi Sun wished that her niece, Lim Min Ji, could give Kim Taehyung a child and kick Jia out of the Kim family, as they considered her a lowly woman.

In the entire Kim family, Elder Kim was the only person who treated her well. Now that he was no longer around, everyone could bully her as they wanted!

However, she could tolerate it and simply turn a blind eye to them. The only person she cared about was Kim Taehyung. Jia wiped her face and looked at him, who was sitting in a corner of the room. "Taehyung, you believe me, don't you?" Kim Taehyung's eyes were cold and indifferent, and he did not even look at her.

His handsome face was the same as when they first met, as cold as ever. Even after being his wife for five years, his attitude towards her had never changed. He was as cold as a stranger!

Even after kneeling for a few hours. She still refused to give in. But, Kim Taehyung's gaze was the only thing that made her heart ache. "You've seen how I've treated grandfather over the past five years. How could I have caused his death?" Only then did he turn to look at her. But, there was no trust or sympathy in his gaze, only coldness!

"There's no point in quibbling." Kim Taehyung spat out these words, causing Jia's originally straight back to tremble. Her grandfather was bedridden and she had taken care of him on her own. The Kim family had plenty of money, but they didn't even hire a nurse. She did all the dirty work. But, as long as she could stay by Kim Taehyung's side and he was happy, she was willing to do it.

Now that Elder Kim was dead and someone was framing her, Kim Taehyung still thought she was lying! Beside Jia, Lim Mi Sun scoffed, "A short-sighted woman from a remote village. Do you think that you can inherit the Kim family's fortune just because Elder Kim is gone?"

The criticism around her was harsh, but all Jia could think about was Kim Taehyung's words! She endured the pain in her heart, "All these years, I've been taking care of the family. I've handled all the affairs of the company in an orderly manner. How could I kill grandfather for money?"

Kim Taehyung sneered, "A woman like you can do anything." His cold voice was filled with disgust. He did not even bother to hide his disdain towards her. At that moment, Jia could almost hear her heart break.

For him, she gave up everything to marry into the Kim family and worked like a servant for 5 years. But, she still couldn't gain any trust from him. He actually agreed to such an absurd reason! He actually thought that she killed Elder Kim for the family fortune! Jia gritted her teeth as her eyes burned with anger.

"Kim Taehyung, what kind of person do you think I am?" Jia's harsh words caused a flash of hatred in his eyes. He raised his finger and two bodyguards grabbed Jia by her shoulders and brought her to Elder Kim's memorial tablet. Her knees hit the ground with a loud thud.

She was forced to kneel in front of Elder Kim's memorial tablet. No matter how hard she struggled, the hands on her shoulders did not budge. Kim Taehyung pressed her down in front of Elder Kim's memorial tablet and spoke in a deep and hoarse voice. "A sinner."

His voice was filled with hatred, causing Jia's heart to tremble. The pain was unbearable. Was that what he had been thinking of her from the moment they got married? Jia suddenly turned her head and stared at him. His side profile was as handsome as ever and he looked like a proud son of heaven.

But, all that could be seen in his eyes was coldness, ridicule and disgust. There wasn't the slightest bit of trust! This one glance caused Jia's heart to turn cold. The man she had loved for so long was actually treating her so badly.

"Kim Taehyung..." Jia gritted her teeth and called out the name with a trembling voice. She placed her hands on the floor and refused to lower her head. Her husband, whom she had treated with all her heart, was now standing on the same side as everyone else and blaming her.

She had stayed by his side for 5 years because of love. But, this love didn't mean she could be bullied and wronged! The police arrived and rushed in. Lim Min Ji pointed at Jia, "She's the murderer! Arrest her!"

When the police were about to grab Jia, she continued to defend herself and looked at Kim Taehyung earnestly. "I didn't kill grandfather. If you give me some time, I will prove my innocence!" But, to her surprise, Kim Taehyung did not respond. He simply stood up and left. At this moment, her heart turned cold.

Under Elder Kim's pressure, Kim Taehyung and Jia maintained peace on the surface. She originally thought that after five years, even a rock would crack, and she hoped he would believe her. But, in the end, she was too naive.

In his eyes, she was just a crow that had flown onto a branch. She had coveted the Kim family's wealth and harmed her grandfather's life. The entire matter was very suspicious, but Kim Taehyung didn't even give her a chance to prove her innocence!

"Behave yourself and don't move!" The police officer yelled as he pushed Jia out the door. This time, she no longer had the energy to defend herself. She simply looked at Kim Taehyung blankly. She looked at the man she had loved for five years, the man that made her willing to cut off her family to marry him. She looked at him until he disappeared from her sight.

Outside the Kim family home, Jia was covered in mud as she followed the police officer in a daze. As if she had suddenly thought things through, a bitter smile appeared on her pale face. Before she boarded the police car, she pulled out her phone and dialed a familiar number.

As soon as she arrived at the detention center, two female prisoners approached her with smiles on their faces. "Miss Lim told us to take good care of you!" Lim Min Ji just couldn't wait. Jia sneered but did not move, her eyes dark and cold as she sat there and waited.

But, before the two female prisoners could do anything, the police officers stopped them. Afterwards, Jia was called to the infirmary. She sat in her chair calmly as the doctor in front of her tapped on the medical report,

"You're pregnant." Immediately, Jia's body trembled as she subconsciously placed her hand on her stomach. She was pregnant... with Kim Taehyung's child! Even until his death, Elder Kim had always wanted to have a grandchild.

For the child's sake, would Kim Taehyung trust her a little?
