"What do you mean?" Naida asked.

"No going near the surface." Mako answered. "The storm causes currents and riptides that can take you miles away in a few minutes. To the children of the sea, having grown up with this, it's not a big deal and we know how to avoid it. But you don't have a tail or a sense for ocean navigation, so it's much more threatening to you." Mako looked at Krait meaningfully, who scowled at Mako.

"We should take her to my reef! She needs to see it!" Lionfish clapped and grabbed Naida's hand. She yanked it from his grasp and he frowned.

"Another one? I thought there was only one in this area." Naida thought back to her mental map of the sea around her house.

"This one's special. It's mine, and of course yours if you please. Aside from me and my brothers, you're the only one who can see it. Oh, and the animals." Lionfish fiddled with one of the numerous fins on his tail.

"Ok, I understand you guys were like, created for me or something, but could you back off a little? Sure, being in a cute relationship would be nice, but I don't think I'm ready, and... you guys are kinda... half fish." Naida backed up and stared at her feet.

"We can't help it. We were made by the sea just for you, resulting in fish legs and a strong attraction to you." Ray said and the brothers backed up, giving her space.

"And the urge to give you our gifts if always present. The longer we hold back, the stronger the desire becomes." Mako said and glanced at Krait, who blushed and looked away angerly.

Naida noticed his glance and turned her attention to Krait. "So what's the deal with you then? You're always super flustered around me, you have some weird fetish with looking at my legs, and you haven't even tried to give me your gift? I'm sorry, but you seem really suspicious and maybe a little perverted to me." She ranted. She was normally a calm, fun, and peaceful girl, but under all this change and stress, it felt like she was losing her mind!

"Krait's just really sh-" Shark tried to speak but Naida cut him off.
