Chapter One: Hot and Hungry
➖"Ellie get up." My sister Lucy shouted, her loud calls ringing in my ears. Jumping on top of me as I snuggled deeper into the weight of my white blankets, which brushed softly against my bare skin.
I dare not look as her physique advanced above the covers which segregated the both of us. The scent of Lucy's perfume wafted in the air between us smelling of citrus and cinnamon, it erupted a famished growl from my stomach letting me know it was time for breakfast.
Unable to see Lucy as the sun hadn't even risen, I groaned. Such an ungodly hour to be waking up, definitely wasn't something I was going to be willing to get used to. My sister peeled back the layers revealing my sleep deprived self.
My eyes shot open once the cool morning air licked my skin, instant goosebumps gathered upon my arms. I strained my eyes attempting to adjust and identify what was going on as my older sister straddled my torso.
"Ellie! Dad said we have to get ready!"
Lucy's hands came down and began to lightly attack my body, my arms were brought to my face to play defence and block Lucy's offence. Her hands were rather warm in contrast to my temperature.
In a split second agonising pain took away my hunger as Lucy accidentally brought her knee into my delicate tummy. I went to double over but Lucy's body was in the way, I let out loud groans of pain as Lucy spluttered out apologies.
"Oops, Sorry." Lucy commemorated in a whisper, allowing me to curl into a ball as she snuggled under the blankets with me as we waited for the pulsating pain subsided.
Lucy, although three years older than me, had adhd and bipolar which made her a little childish and crazy at times, but boy did I love her. Lucy was my best friend, my go to person, literally my everything.
And even though I thought so highly of her, she did end up doing some pretty unholy things, and she had some really annoying habits but like me too. Having my sister wrap her long arms around me welcomed butterflies to my stomach which now didn't hurt that bad, maybe a light bruise as I did have sensitive skin.
A flash of light caught the attention of myself and Lucy, followed by a click and a deep chuckle we both snapped her heads to the door way of my room.
There stood my father with his sacred camera I swear he lived that thing more than he loved anything in the world, other than his two daughters of course.
He had begun to get ready as he had his black trousers and white button up on, his hair was wet and tangled and his plain black tie hung over his left shoulder.
"Dad!" I rolled my eyes at his antics, always sneaking in a few pictures without our consent of course.
His mixed green eyes snapped to mine, a smile embracing his lips and a chuckle echoing around my room. I watched as he shrugged his broad shoulders and responded.
"Get up, we're leaving soon." And with that he strode away from my room, his attention going back to his camera.
I flipped back down on my fluffy pillows allowing my head to sink into them a little as my sister turned to me. Neither of us willing to leave the bed first.
"I don't really wanna get out of bed." I admitted, my voice low so dad wouldn't hear if he happened to walk past again but loud enough that Lucy would understand what I had said.
Obviously staying home wasn't an option as dad had said something along the lines of, 'cute kids cut the deals'. Dad wanted Lucy and I to come meet with the family of the guy he was doing business with. Dad is a photographer, and this man we were going to meet had a garden party which he wanted pictures from.
