Heaven's Will

Chapter 1

It was another busy day at the Royal Palace. The servants are running errands for His Majesty and his royal family around the Palace. Amongst the servants, three children are running around and playing with one another. Children being children, they were causing trouble to the servants as they were doing their jobs. A servant was going to scold the kid but stepped back and apologized when he found out that it was Crown Prince Lee Yun. Lee Yun ignored him and continued playing with his friends.

A lady came and approached one of his two friends. It was Servant Rim, Finance Minister's family servant. "Agasshi (It stands for Miss/Lady. Addressed to mainly a nobleman's daughter), Mr Choi is looking for you", she said.

The sweet-looking Lady Choi Seolhwa listened to her servant's words and told her friends that she need to leave. Her two friends waved goodbye to their dear friend. She walked with Rim to where her father was waiting for her. As soon as she saw him, Seolhwa run towards her father. Her father saw her running towards him as he opened up both of his arms to embraced his only daughter in a big hug.

"Seolhwa, did you play with your friends again?", Finance Minister Choi Gung asked his 8-year-old  daughter while carrying her.

"Yes, father. It was fun!", replied his daughter with a joyful look. Her father managed to smile infront of her but his expression became gloomy once his daughter looks away.

The truth is, her father is a minister from the ruling political party which is called Soron. Although he liked that his daughter became friends of the Crown Prince. He is wary with the other friend, Kim Hwiyu. He is the son of Defence Minister Kim Min-Jong, a minister from the opposition party.

Back to the palace, Crown Prince and Hwiyu are resting in Crown Prince's room. Suddenly, one of Crown Prince's servant opened the door of the room with a man behind her. "Father!", Hwiyu exclaimed in shock upon seeing his father. His father bowed to the Crown Prince before going out of the room, maintaining a cold, straight face. Hwiyu knew that he had to follow his father. He stood up and run towards the door. He stopped and waved good bye to the Crown Prince before continuing to run to catch up with his father.

Sounds of a boy crying and wailing of pain accompanied by a roaring voice of a man can be heard in Minister Kim's residence.

"Why didn't you practice instead of playing with the Crown Prince?!", shouted Minister Kim while holding a rotan stick and using it to beat the legs of Hwiyu who is standing up. "Stop crying! You should take it like a man!", he exclaimed. After the punishment, Hwiyu cried to bed alone. "Mother, father beat me up again. Where are you? I miss you", Hwiyu cried himself to sleep.

Minister Kim heard his son talking to his "mother". He went inside Hwiyu's room and sees Hwiyu's asleep. He went nearer to his sleeping child and rubbed his forehead. Tears began to roll down his eyes as he looked at his son's face. He applied medication to the scars on his son's legs . Feeling of regret began to overwhelmed him. He then get out of the room before kissing his only child's forehead. Hwiyu was awake the entire time.

Minister Kim sat down in his room while staring into space. He had a flashback to the past. He was once full of smiles especially when he met his wife. He married her and they were expecting a child. However, his wife died after she gave birth to Hwiyu. Since then, he became a cold person and blamed Hwiyu for her death. He let out a big sigh after the flashback.

Over time, Crown Prince turned 13 and he needed a Crown Princess. Queen Dowager picked Prime Minister' daughter as the Crown Princess. However, Crown Prince treated her as if she was invinsible as he had no feelings for her and his heart belongs to someone else.

10 years passed, Crown Prince and Hwiyu are having a swordfight to practice on their sword skills. Seolhwa can be seen cheering for both of them. Seolhwa's cheers have a significant impact to both of them. Both wanted to win it for Seolhwa.
