A land frozen in time, frozen in ice. What a beautiful world.

Bethany, trying desperately to breathe, finally reached the surface, gasping for air. Why couldn't she remember anything, and what was with this damned snow? Shivering, she looked around, longing for a source of warmth, food, and water. It was at this time that her surroundings had really sunk in.

She was in a cave, with a large, open hole. Well, it WOULD be open normally, if it weren't frozen over. Other than that, the walls were an icy blue, shiny, probably from being frozen over. Snow coated the floor, which Bethany found odd, as for snow to have gotten down here, the covered areas would've had to be exposed to the sky. Speaking of which, it would seem to be daytime, as a bright sky could be seen beyond the now frozen over hole. The only feasible way out would seem to be to head further into the cave, hopefully finding a second exit. She would have to move quickly, however. If she didn't move now, she'd die. If the starvation didn't get to her, the cold would. Luckily, she was quite smart, so she would be able to use her intelligence to get her out of this situation.

She began to stand, with the knowledge that she had to get a move on, sooner, rather than later. Her bones ached, more than likely from exhaustion, and lack of food or water. It was surreal, she realized. Here she was, on the brink of death, with no memory of where or when she was, stuck in this tomb of ice, trudging through the snow, with no other thought than surviving.

"Just keep climbing, Beth..." she repeated to herself, heading into the depths. She always did this, giving herself pep talks, boosting her morale, and otherwise inspiring herself to go farther than she otherwise would. With this in mind, she continued on for what seemed like an eternity, before she finally came across another exit. Similar to the first opening, it was frozen over. Beth's mind went into a frenzy, as this ice could very well be the end of her. After a good amount of digging, scraping, and all other manner of searching, she managed to produce a decently sized rock that had been buried by snow. Mustering her strength, Bethany hurled the rock, watching the ice shatter to pieces. Sighing, she stepped out, shielding her face from the sudden light of the sun. She looked around, and realized something.

          There was nothing around.
