Freshman POV
I woke up with my heart pounding and the image of Lexa last night burned into my brain. I had just met the girl and she was already driving my mind wild. I look over at her, she's sleeping on her stomach drooling all over her pillow. I chuckle as I slowly get up. I look at my phone, 5:07 AM, damn it's early.
I notice on my phone that there was a text from my brother, Murphy.
Murphy (3:12 AM): Hey Clarke. I wanted to let you know that your roommate is probably going to wake up utterly hungover. In the past, either me or Anya has gotten her a blue gatorade and three Advil and she's good to go.
Clarke (5:08 AM): Thanks brotha, you're a lifesaver, I'd rather not have her be hungover all day, I can't even begin to tell you what she's been like. Love you!
I change out of pajama shorts and into my nike joggers, throwing on a fresh shirt and my shoes. I put my AirPods in and go downstairs.
It was cooler outside, but it felt good. Tennis season doesn't start until the spring, but summer conditioning like running early in the morning helps adjust a lot easier in the spring. It also makes the weather not so harsh on my lungs.
The closest convenience store was about a mile away, but if it keeps Lexa from being annoyingly hungover then I'll do anything that I can.
Five minute mile, pretty impressive if I do say so myself. I put my hands on my knees huffing loudly and cough a little bit. Definitely the fast mile I've ever run without blacking out.
I go inside of the 7/11 and grab two gatorades, blue for Lexa and a red one for myself. I also grabbed a container of Advil just in case I forgot to pack it.
The cashier who goes by the name of Finn smiles at me as he's ringing up my stuff.
"Here pretty early!" He starts to put my stuff in a bag.
"No bag," He nods his head "And yeah, I like to beat the morning heat"
He laughs, "14.28 is gonna be your total."
"Do you take apple pay?" He nods his head and types something up on his register.
"When you're ready," I press my phone onto the machine.
"Have a good day!" I take the gatorades and the Advil and head out the door.
I jog on the way home, hitting a 12 minute mile so I don't drop anything along the way.
When I get back to my dorm it's 5:35 AM and Lexa still isn't awake.
Quietly, I open up the Advil, putting three on her bedside table next to her blue gatorade. I go to the stationary writing her a little note.
I needed something to do today before the impeding rain and needed to get active somehow, but not running until my heart explodes.
Clarke (6:03 AM): Raven are you up for an early tennis match?
Raven (6:06 AM): You woke me up WOMAN! But if you give me twenty minutes and buy me breakfast after I'm totally down.
Clarke (6:07 AM): Hehehehe I'm really sorry, luv u though. I'll be at the courts at 6:30.
I got my stuff together, changing into a pair of short nike shorts and my tennis shoes. I grabbed my racket and started heading down to the courts.
Soccer Player POV
My head is pounding, what happened last night?
I sit up looking around, the room was far too bright
I reach for my phone, see that it's 10:48 AM and see that there's a snapchat from Murphy.
Murphy: Good morning love! Still finding yourself raving about the blonde like last night?
Lexa: Fuck you Murphy, I was extremely drunk, leave me alone
Murphy: You love me. Almost as much as you love Clarke
Lexa: How do you even know who she is? I don't get it
Murphy: She's my sister bro, we've known each other for LITERALLY our entire lives
Lexa: Well like brother like sister I suppose
Murphy: Safe to say good looks run in the family, huh Lex?
Lexa: Yeah whatever, that's not what I meant
Murphy: Yes it is, but no shame. Have a good day
I put my phone down and get up to close the blinds.
I stumble over my feet, but make it there eventually. After closing them and crawling back into bed I notice something on my bedside table. I sit up and find a blue gatorade, Advil and a note sitting there.
Lexa,
You were pretty drunk last night, but here's a little something to cheer you up. Heard blue was your favorite :)
- Clarke
I roll my eyes and chuckle to myself.
I take a sip of my gatorade, god I am thankful for that blonde. I remember close to nothing from the night before, let alone what had actually gone on once I got home and Clarke was gone before I had woken up, but left everything behind so she would be back.
After taking the Advil and drinking some more gatorade I start rummaging through my dresser, looking for a clean shorts and athletic shorts to throw on. I wasn't planning on going anywhere, I needed a recovery day especially since soccer season started the next week.
The door opened and the room filled with laughter. Clarke and two other girls walked into the room. They throw grocery bags full of food onto Clarke's bed.
"Finally up?" Clarke speaks, smiling in my direction.
"Uh, yeah. Thanks for the gatorade, and Advil" Clarke nodded
"We were planning on hanging out and watching movies, you don't have to, but it's an open invitation," I smile, grabbing a hoodie from the end of my bed. "Oh my god, I completely forgot, Lexa, this is Raven and Octavia"
The two waved and said hello, continuing to set up the room for their movie day.
"I'd love to join, as long as I'm not intruding," I rub the back of my head.
Clarke grabs my arm softly, "I invited you, of course you're not intruding"
This was gonna be a long day
