Beyoncé sat on the beach, looking out on the waves, her feet buried in the sand. She sighed loudly in frustration, her constant boredom making her irritable.

Since she had gotten herself stuck on this island, she'd been trying to find something to keep her occupied, but was unsuccessful. Swimming in the ocean? No. Exploring the island? Done that. Stay inside and write? Boring. Beyoncé found out that although being on a beautiful island sounded great, it was very much so the opposite.

Standing up, Beyoncé walked towards her home, tempted to go to sleep to hopefully be less bored in a dream.

When the tan goddess woke up, the sun was nearly set. Having nothing else to do, she went back outside towards the beach, where she'd sit until she went back to sleep or ate, whichever one came first.

When she arrived on the shore, however, a body was in her usual spot. Nervous and confused, Beyoncé kneeled by the unknown person, flipping the over onto their back. Beyoncé looked at the pretty woman, frowning when she hadn't woken up. She shook the unconscious girl, cursing to herself when she got nothing.

She realized that the girl could be hurt, so she quickly picked her up, moving her into the house.

After closer inspection, Beyoncé saw that there was a cut on the young girl's head, arms, and a large bruise on her leg. She quickly bandaged all of the girl's wounds, and sat waiting on the still asleep girl to wake up.

It had been a few hours until the chocolate woman woke up, Beyoncé nearly worried that the stranger wouldn't wake up.

"Where am I?" the girl said groggily, trying to sit up, but groaning in pain and laying back down.

Beyoncé grabbed onto the girls shoulder, gently pushing her back down onto the couch she laid on. "Stay down, I don't want you to get up too early." Beyoncé moved, leaning to grab an ice pack to hand to the stranger. "You're on an island, miles away from the mainland."

The chocolate girl in front of the goddess took the ice pack, placing it on her head. "And you are?"

"I'm Beyoncé. What's your name?"

"Normani," the girl mumbled, closing her eyes. "What happened? How did I end up here?"

Beyoncé sighed, shrugging. "I don't know, I saw you lying on shore, and I brought you to my home. You didn't have anyone with you, did you?"

Normani frowned, shaking her head. "No, I was alone."

Beyoncé nodded slowly, looking at the girl with hope and curiosity in her eyes.

The first night between the two women had been very brief, as Normani needed all the rest she could get. Though Beyoncé thought the same would happen the next day, around mid-day the chocolate girl limped into the kitchen where the goddess was preparing a late lunch.

Beyoncé noticed Normani before she was able to say anything. "Hey, Normani. I see you're up."

The shorter girl waved, sitting down in the closest chair. "Hi Beyoncé."

"I was just making some food, I hope you like fish."

Normani nodded, smiling softly. "It's my favorite."

A comfortable silence fell between the two, Normani just watching Beyoncé as she prepared the food. Normani started to hum softly, making Beyoncé look up from the vegetables she was cutting. "What song is that?"

"Oh, just something that my family sings. I've heard it forever."

Beyoncé nodded, "Tell me more about your family."

"Can we talk about something else?" Normani said, her eyes stuck on the floor. Beyoncé noticed this, and she quickly thought to change the subject.

"Of course, I'm sorry." Beyoncé bit her lip nervously. "The food's almost ready, are you ready to eat?"

Beyonce could barely understand the words coming out of her old friend's mouth. "Beyonce? Are you listening to me?" Kelly said, crossing her arms in frustration. "Zeus is willing to let you off this island if you let the girl go tomorrow, and you're acting like you can't understand that!" Beyonce looked at her friend surprised, before quickly shushing her.

"Not so loud! I don't want Normani to hear." Beyonce said, looking down at her hands.

"Why not? You're going to let her go, right?" Kelly asked, looking at her best friend expectantly. "Beyonce, I don't know why you would want to stay trapped on this island with this... mortal." Kelly said, gesturing her head outdoors towards the girl.

"She's more than just a mortal!" Beyonce said defensively. "She's kind and smart, and she's kept me company for a long time now. I don't want to just get rid of her." The tan woman said quietly, before placing her lip in between her teeth.

"Bey, I know that it must suck for her to leave. But think about this; if she leaves, you get to leave too. You can finally find your person, and you won't be stuck trapped on this island any longer. That seems like a good deal to me." Kelly reasoned, looking at her best friend. Of course Kelly wanted for Beyonce to leave the island, she had been banished there for far too long, and even if it was Beyonce's fault, she missed her best friend.

Beyoncé bit her lip, her eyebrows furrowed in thought. How could she tell Kelly that she didn't want to leave because she'd found her person here, when the girl didn't even love her? "What if I say no?"

Kelly sighed, placing her hand on her friend's shoulder. "Zeus sent me. When the girl was brought here, he didn't expect you to keep her here. If you don't let her go, I don't know what will happen to you. Zeus is serious about this, I'm sorry."

Beyoncé's heart fell, knowing that she couldn't find a way around this if she tried. Her life was now potentially on the line. How could she say no?

Nodding, Beyoncé sighed sadly, agreeing to let the girl she had fallen in love with go. "Can she leave tomorrow?"

"She can leave tomorrow, but it must be done by the time the sun is down." Kelly reasoned, making Beyoncé reluctantly nod her head again.

Normani had been sitting outside for an hour until the two women came from inside the house, walking back toward the boat that Kelly came in. "Leaving already?" Normani asked once the two got close enough.

Kelly nodded, a small smile on her face. "I have to, duty calls. It was nice meeting you though Normani."

"Nice meeting you." Normani responded, looking at Beyoncé.

Beyoncé gave Kelly a quick hug, muttering a 'see you soon', and then Kelly was on her way. Beyoncé stood there for a while, first watching Kelly leave, then watching nothing but the waves crashing.

"Are you okay?" Normani asked, looking at the goddess with a worried expression on her face.

Beyoncé snapped out of her trance, looking to the girl with a smile on her face that Normani could tell wasn't genuine. "I'm fine. I'll uh, I'll be back in the house." The tan goddess didn't give the other girl a chance to speak before she left.
