The Doctor sits on the seat by the console and stares at the empty space in front of him. He listens to the empty silence that was once filled with laughter and happiness. He can almost see her, his pink and yellow human, coming back to him with a smile decorating her face. Not this time. He had lost her. She was never coming back to him. He had let her down.

The TARDIS makes a light wheezing sound. Just loud enough to break him from his thoughts. "What is it? What wrong?" He asks her.

He hears a fluttering sound and looks to his right. There, where before was just empty space, now sits a letter. On the front, a single word: Doctor. Written in neat handwriting. Rose's handwriting. One last piece of her. Slowly, the Doctor opens the letter.

"Dear Doctor,

I've had a funny feeling these past few days. Every time I wake, I have to make sure you're still here. I feel as if I'm going to lose you soon. So, if you get this, it means something has really happened and we'e not together anymore.

Meeting you at the shop that day was the best thing that ever happened. Traveling with you was the best decision I could have ever made. You've shown me the stars, planets, and alien civilizations. You've saved the world so many times and I've had the privilage of being by your side. You, Doctor, have taught me so many things. You've taught me to say no when I know something is wrong. You've taught me how to be a better human. Kindness, compassion, bravery.

I guess where I'm really going with this is - I don't know when or if I'll ever see you again, and I don't know if I'll have said it already. If I have said it by the time you read this, then I'm glad I'm able to tell you once more, even if I'm not really there.

I love you.

I'm not sure if you feel the same way but Doctor, I love you. I love your stupid 'Allonsy' and how excited you get when you figure something out. I wish I could tell you how much, but if I did, it would probably be the length of a novel. Be happy, Doctor. You deserve it. Just don't forget me.

In the words of Madame de Pompadour, "One may tolerate a world of demons for the sake of an angel." You're that angel, Doctor. I won't forget one day of this. Thank you.

With love,

Rose Tyler

By the way, have some chips for me, will you?"

That's when the Oncoming Storm let himself break.

A/N: Oh, look, I made a thing. If this causes any feels or anything, my hand slipped, whoops. This is the first thing I write that I'm actually proud of :'3

Bye, I love you! <3
