"What time is it?" I asked then.
Louis shrugged. He did not have his cell phone and Amy did not have her watch. We were not returned. But it must have been around noon, as the sun was already high enough in a cloudless blue sky.
I was hoping I would find my bed tonight, as well as my parents. Then, they must surely worry, since I did not have my cell on me.
All these thoughts choked me. I decided to leave the room, leaving Louis and Amy talking about the famous challenge.
As soon as I left the shack, I heard screams. There were two voices, and not just any of them, those of Liam and Niall.
I saw them. They were a few meters from me, just opposite. They were arguing."You say anything man, you do not even realize it!" Niall was indignant. "Is it too much to smoke that makes you so stupid or are you really stupid?"
"Guys?" I intervened, surprised by what Niall was saying. "It's okay ?"
"All right." Said Liam.
Well. Since he took it like that, I decided not to interfere. I started to leave in the opposite direction, while I heard both of them follow me.
"Wait Margot, it's not what you think!" Liam blew. "We talked, that's all. Not true Niall?"
"Yeah." He answered abruptly. "But you could have told me that."
"Do you understand when I'm talking to you?" Replied Liam immediately. "I tried but you did not understand anything!"
I stopped walking and turned around. I crossed my arms, frowning.
"Good." I whispered looking at them in turn. "You'll explain to me what's going on?"
"It's Mathilde!" Said Niall.
I frowned. Who is it?
"She's in Liam's class, and apparently she would have told him that she had some views on me, except she's dating my friend, Martin."
What?
"But." Timothy said, glancing at him furtively. "I have just learned that there is scarcely a fortnight since Nia had already tasted the scent of her lips."
I was speechless. Niall did not move either. He was obviously not very proud of him and his act.
"Your friend knows?" I asked, my heart tight, imagining him kissing that famous Mathilde.
"No, of course not, and he must not be!" He mumbled.
"You should have thought about it before!" Sighed Liam, rolling his eyes. "Can you imagine if we had done this to you too? How would you react?"
"Certainly better than he would react!" He observed, inflating his chest.
"You talk, but you can not understand. Imagine for a moment if it was Margot, and she's your girlfriend and that..."
"It's good I understood!" He groaned dryly.
Then he raised his head quickly before jostling me slightly to return to the shack.
Charming.
All that remained was Liam and me, none of us were moving. My head was tangled. I did not really understand what had happened. I stared at Liam, who was shrugging his shoulders before looking away."Well, hum, what do we do?" I asked, embarrassed.
I had no idea. The day was likely to be longer than expected. I sighed as Liam ran his hand through his brown hair. Silence reigned between us, but strangely, the silence was never painful with him.
"I'll try to talk to Niall." He announced after a silence.
I gave him a funny look before blowing:
"Good luck then."
He forced a smile before sinking into the shack.
I went on my way to sit on the same rock as the day before. I quickly passed my hands in my hair before sighing. I did not know where I was. And most importantly, I did not understand Niall's reaction. Why was he avoiding me, whereas when Liam took him as an example, he suddenly changed his behavior? I would like to find him to try to talk to him. But for the moment, I preferred to avoid.
I raised my head and stared at the sky. I had no idea what time it was. And unfortunately, I had never been able to spot me thanks to the sun. And yet, my father had tried several times."Margot!" Exclaimed Amy.
I jumped at once, turning around. Amy ran behind me, smiling. She looked so happy. I did not move.
"What?" I asked.
"What are you doing here? All alone?" She observed, once at my height.
"Nothing, I thought."
She nodded slowly before smiling again.
"You come? Everyone and inside and we're waiting for you to play!" She said.
She pointed to the shack. After a little thought, I got up. Anyway I did not have anything else to do. Even if I did not want to meet Niall, I accepted anyway. My friend was hopping on the spot before taking me by the hand.
Hoping that the day passes a little faster.
