"Sometimes, you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, and sometimes, in the middle of nowhere, you find yourself."

"Should I open the door?", I asked myself.

"Don't trust someone this easily."

I heard a voice in my head.

I started running senselessly in the opposite direction.

To my surprise, there wasn't a sign of any human.

After running for about five minutes, I stopped, placed my hands on my knees and huffed.

"Water?" I looked up and saw a girl who was passing me a bottle of water
.
"Yes please", I said breathing heavily.

I grabbed the bottle and gulped the water in one breath.

"Hey!! relax!! No one is gonna snatch it from you", the girl said with concern.

"Thank you for the water", I said while removing the drops of water from my lips and neck by the help of my sleeve.

Elegance? What elegance?

"So what are you doing here all alone?", asked the girl.

"I was looking for my department", I muttered.

"Looking for your department? Here?", She looked at me with shock.

"Yeah! I asked a guy and he told me that the department of management is in this direction", I said with a confused expression.

"There is only the storeroom of science faculty in this hallway where students are strictly not allowed."

Her words dumbfounded me.

"The guy was a senior who wanted to lock you in that room so that you might get a punishment on the violation of rules. He has done the same with many freshers. But you are lucky."

All thanks to that weird dream, I thought.

"Ray", she said.

"What?" I asked.

"My name. Ray Thompson." she replied extending her right hand.

"Clara. Clara Denizer." I grinned while grasping her hand and pressing it a little.

"What is your field, Clara?"

"Management in finance and accounting."

"Guess what!", She said excitedly, "We are in the same departments."

"That's great. I would get a chance to know more about you.", I said with a genuine smile.

......................................................................

"Students appearing for the University examinations must have  80% of attendance as per the rules of the College. There is no provision for condonation of any kind."

Mrs. Miller said while moving back and forth on the stage.

"The management reserves the right to modify the class timings and schedule. We will discuss some other rules tomorrow."

It's been more than two hours since Mrs. Miller is giving us a lecture on the rules and regulation of our 'esteemed' institute.

I looked at Ray who was sitting with me and had an annoyed expression on her face.

I feel ya Sista.

"That's all for today."

'Finally!", Ray exclaimed.

"Let's grab a bite from the cafeteria.", She added looking at me.

......................................................................

"80% attendance? Is she serious?" Ray yelled taking a big bite of her burger.

"They shouldn't have such strict attendance policy, after all, we are adult now. Can someone please stop this attendance thing for me?"

She stated the last sentence in a crying voice.

"Umm, maybe we should look at the positive aspects."

I pressed my lips together to control my smile.

"You would get a chance to eat this yummy burger every day .", I added.

She was dumbfounded for a moment.

We looked at each other's face and then we both burst out laughing.
