Weasley and Lovegood

Part 3 - Boarding the Hogwarts Express.

-Luna's POV-
September 1st
The train slows down as it comes round the bend, and smoke puffs over the boarding platform. For the first time, my father isn't here to farewell me as I go off to Hogwarts. For helping the death eaters during the War, he was almost sent to Azkaban, but thanks to Harry he was given a second chance. Dad is busy doing community service for the wizarding world, I won't go into detail about what he does, but I must say that its not pleasant. This also means that the Quibbler hasn't had a new issue for months but I hope to start writing my own magazine at school.

"Board the train everybody!" Shouts the train conductor. I get snapped out of my thoughts and enter the train.

I walk down the isle of the train looking in every empty compartment, sliding past people as I go. I've gotta find Ginny, I think. Out of the corner of my eye a brown haired boy, taps on my shoulder. "Luna!" He exclaims. I turn around to see Neville, great, I think to myself.
"Come sit with me, the compartment has blackout curtains, if you know what I mean!" He winks (Neville and a few of the others repeated the 7th year because of the battle of Hogwarts and the fact that their year wasn't fully completed). He kisses me on the cheek, and I reluctantly let him. "I'm sorry Neville", I say. "I have to go and look for Ginny, I promised Harry I would look after her. She's been through a lot you know."

"Ok, Luna, I'll see you here later though!" He winks again. "Maybe she can join us."

I leave without responding and continue walking. When I'm nearing the back of the train I see Ginny sitting alone in one of the compartments. "Hey." I say as I enter. "How are you? I know it must be hard but I'm here for you!"

"If Harry put you up to this, then he's a right old git, I can look after myself you know". She shouts.

"I know Ginny, I'm just here for you as a good friend! Care to read the Quibbler." I exclaim as my turnip earrings jiggle violently. They do that when I'm nervous or lying. The train departs and I watch as everything blurs out the window.
