Both Slytherin and Gryffindor stand opposite each other on the Hogwarts Grounds. Harry and our Seeker, Terence Higgs, stand in front of each other. There are four tribunes, one for each House. I'm sitting on the Slytherin tribune and look for Harry.
'Welcome students and professors... to the first Quidditch match of this year!' Madam Hooch says. The public cheers. Madam Hooch looks at a piece of parchment. 'The teams look like this. For Slytherin: the Chasers are Marcus Flint, Arian Pucey, and Montague. The Beaters are Bole and Derrick. The Keeper is Miles Bletchley. Their Seeker is Terence Higgs and their captain is also Marcus Flint,' reads Madam Hooch. The whole Slytherin tribune claps and yells. A few Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws clap and whistle too, just out of politeness.
Then Madam Hooch goes further: 'the Gryffindor team looks like this: the Chasers are Katie Bell, Angelina Johnson, and Alicia Spinnet. The Beaters are, of course, the Weasley twins: Fred and George. Their Keeper is Oliver Wood, who is also their captain. And the last, but not least: their Seeker. He's the youngest Quidditch Player in the History of Quidditch: Harry Potter!' The whole Gryffindor tribune goes wild. Multiple Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws are clapping and cheering. I clap and cheer too.
Goyle and Crabbe look at me. 'What?' I ask then. 'Are you cheering for Gryffindor?' Crabbe asks shocked. I shake fast my head. 'N...no, why would I?' I ask. 'Maybe he yelled at someone in specific,' Goyle says. 'There's no one in specific I cheer for, okay?' I say mad. Crabbe and Goyle grin and look at the Quidditch Fields.
'Before the game starts, I have a few things left to say,' Madam Hooch says. The tribunes are immediately silent.
'A team scores a point if the Quaffle is thrown to one of the three hoops of the other team, it only counts if it's thrown by a Chaser. The lowest hoop is worth one point, the middle one- a higher one, is worth three points and the highest one is worth five points. The game ends as soon as the Seeker catches the Golden Snitch, which is good for 150 points, and if that team has more points than the other. The Keeper tries to prevent goals from the opponent. The Beaters try to prevent that the Chasers play over with the Quaffle and score like that, using two Bludgers.'
Everyone gets impatient. 'There's one last thing I want to say, regarding the rules. This year the Ministry of Magic decided to add one rule: at the end of the game, the points both teams got, will be turned into House points.' Madam Hooch says.
Jordan Lee takes his place in his 'office'. Jordan is the commentator. Madam Hooch whistles and then both teams step on their broom.
Both teams are in the air. I hear Jordan's voice from far. I only see Harry flying. He's clearly visible between the swirling red and green blisters. 'Alicia has the Quaffle, she throws it to Katie. Katie flies over the field, waiting for the right moment to play over the Quaffle.' Jordan says.
I'm not really following the game. My eyes are focused on Harry. Goyle and Crabbe notice that. 'I hope he falls off his broom and dies,' Crabbe says. I look mad at him. 'How can you say that, Crabbe?' I ask. 'I knew it was someone special!' Goyle says. 'Leave Harry alone guys,' I say. The two of them laugh. I grab my wand out of my robe and point it at them. They swallow. 'Say one more word about Harry and you're both dead!' I say. Goyle and Crabbe both nod fast.
'Oeehhh! Harry was just able to dodge a Bludger,' I hear Jordan saying. My eyes shoot across the field, searching for Harry. I see him falter, but he recovers quickly. 'Gryffindor scores! Three points to Gryffindor!' Jordan shouts through his microphone. The Gryffindor tribune goes wild again and I cheer loud. Ron and Hermoine both look at me. I'm the only Slytherin who cheers. Harry clearly gets more confident, so I keep going. I ignore all the "boo" cheers of the other Slytherins.
Harry shoots over the field. The score is now 200-150 for Slytherin. 'If Harry catches the Snitch before Terence does, Gryffindor wins,' Jordan says. I wonder if Harry's faster than Terence. I know he has a Nimbus 2000, but Terence knows her strategy.
Suddenly my eye catches a golden haze, the Snitch. "Harry, the Snitch is here!" I want to shout to help Harry, but I notice that Harry sees it too. He shoots over the field, through the public. He just floats above the Slytherin stand, his eyes seem to be looking for something. But I know it's not for the Snitch. I wave at Harry, he waves back.
'Another goal from Alicia! Gryffindor now has 153 points!' Jordan shouts. That brings both Harry and me back to the real world. He shakes his head to shake off his thoughts and searches for the Snitch again.
He found it soon, but Terence is already after it. He tracks his broom as if it is a horse. He shoots over the field and soon catches up with Terence. It is fierce. They push and push and Harry almost loses his balance. I don't dare to look, so I put my hands over my face. I hear Crabbe and Goyle saying things like: "oohhh, there he goes..." and "crap! Harry almost has the Snitch!" That makes me even more scared that something happens to Harry.
Then something happens what nobody saw coming: Harry stands on his broom. The Snitch is just a meter of 10 away from him. He extends his arm as far as possible. He floats for like 10 seconds. The only thing I see then is Harry rolling over the ground. I see it happening between my fingers.
'Harry lost his balance and falls on the ground!' I hear Jordan saying. I stand up and look worried to the ground. Harry sits on his ass on the ground, he grabs his stomach with his hands. It looks like he's going to puke. I'm really worried and almost want to run over the field, but someone stops me. It's Hermoine. She shakes her head. 'You make it too obvious,' she says. I'm not sure what she's talking about, so I ask her. 'That you like him,' she makes herself clear. My face turns red as I sit back down.
Then Harry stands up, with his hands still on his stomach. He leans forward and spits out a golden object in his hands, the Snitch. 'Harry has the Snitch! Harry has the Snitch! Gryffindor wins!' Jordan says. Everyone at the Gryffindor tribune stands up and claps and cheers loud. I stand up too and cheer loud. 'Gryffindor wins with 303 points against Slytherin, who has 300 points!'
I walk downstairs to the field and walk to Harry, who is raised high in the air. When he's back on the ground, he takes me apart. 'You were amazing there!' I say. Harry smiles proudly. 'Thank you. But you gave me confidence...' he says. I start to blush. 'Really? When did I do that?' I ask. 'When you cheered for me, dummy', he says.
"Damn, he's cute", goes through my head. Harry has the same thought, even though I don't know that. Then Oliver Wood calls him. 'I see you in the Great Hall!' he says. He gives me a quick hug and leaves me alone then. We both realize that that was weird, but it's too late. He's he has already been swallowed by his Gryffindor fans.
