lila would be a liar if she said she hadn't changed.

lila sat in front of her vanity mirror with a nervous look on her face. a few weeks ago she had gotten a message from her neighbor in her teenage years, tyler joseph. she never really spoke to tyler one on one. she was friends with his sister maddie. they still talk to this day- but never tyler, until a few weeks ago of course.

in all honesty lila didn't know what to think of it all... she was fine and somewhat dandy. her life was somewhat fixed- she had her friends. and her best friend who was living with her currently and was the mess in lila's life that she needed to fix on a daily basis. but other than that lila was fine. she was working 9-5 job at a botanic garden due to her love of nature and plants. she was paid well- had nice co-workers, and she was able to name and label all the plants without getting yelled at.

and even if she were to get yelled at- she would kindly snap back at them... lila had seen herself grow as a person once she turned 18. she and best friend, memmie who is the best friend that lives with her got matching tattoos. she helps memmie paint her nails because apparently according to memmie- she does them good. her and memmie bought a house under both of their names. lila got a car. lila did her taxes on time, unlike memmie. if the government were to do a scan on lila. she would be the prime example of a law-abiding citizen.

she had accepted the meeting with tyler a week ago, the reason behind the sudden meetup was never explained. which but lila on edge. but from what she remembers- tyler was a goofy nice guy. apparently according to maddie. he had started a band with his best friend josh. seemed kind of childish in lila's retrospect. but she still remembers when tyler used to play on his piano in his room. he was a good player, and something inside her wanted to know if he had gotten better.

lila put on some soft make-up and stared at her outfit- which looked fine in her bathroom mirror. but now it looked somewhat drab in her vanity mirror. as lila was about to go back into her closet which was some type of walk in like closet she heard a voice.

"the outfit looks great- quit stressing and meet the guy." it was memmie talking to her and by the looks of it, she had just woken up.

lila rolled her eyes and put her phone in her petite bag she always seemed to carry. "says the girl who can't order through a mcdonalds drive thru without getting anxious." she reminded. "also mem, it's 2 o'clock in the afternoon. why are just barely waking up?"

memmie frowned at the fact her best friend was acting like her mother. she only thing she needed was her to start cussing her out in spanish and lila was set. memmie mocked her tone of voice and then actually replied, "i was tired, still am. just couldn't the taste of my own breath anymore." her brown short curls were everywhere. it seemed like her friend forgot to put leave in conditioner, again.

"memmie- you're twenty-five... you're wasting your life." lila scolded.

"the thing is- i didn't want to make it to twenty-five." memmie retorted.

"i don't want to get into this today, dishes need to be washed and your dog amigo needs a bath." lila told her as she left the house. memmie couldn't help but roll her eyes.
