Shadow Girl
“Good night Manhattan!” Gerard yelled as he ran off stage. His band, “My Chemical Romance”, had just finished their final show for the night. He jogged backstage followed by the other band members. Frank was on guitar, Mikey played bass and Ray was on lead guitar. Gerard himself was the lead singer of the band.
They were laughing and shoving each other as they made their way back to their tour bus, when they heard a faint noise coming from the alley near the venue. “Hey, guys. Do you hear that?” Gerard asked as the guys settled down. He slowly walked towards the alley, hoping it wasn’t some setup for fan girls to maul him.
“Here, take this.” Frank handed Gerard his cell phone to use as light. He shined it into the alley way but couldn't really make anything out. He stepped a bit farther in and could see a little better. All he could really see was that the moon had reflected on a nearby trash can and was now showing an small, hardly visible shadow.
“Hello....?” Mikey whispered while clinging on to Gerard’s jacket. He was never a fan of the dark, and now was no exception. They were all quiet, waiting for a response that probably wasn't coming. Gerard was about to get closer, but decided not to, seeing as the figure was now silent.
“Hel.. hello...?” A small voice whispered. Ray lightly shoved the rest of the band away and slowly walked into the dark. He took the phone from Gerard and shined it where the voice had came from.
“It’s okay, were not going to hurt you,” He whispered in an soothing voice. “My name is Ray. What's yours?”
“Anne.. Annabelle...” The small, assuming by the name, girl whispered.
Mikey slowly approached Ray and the little girl, along with the rest of the group. “Can you come out for us please?” Mikey asked. “We can’t see you very well.”
Annabelle slowly came out and stood in the middle of a light illuminated circle where the moonlight was shining. She had shoulder length brown hair and her eyes were big and from what the guys could see, they were green. She had slightly ripped pants and a MCR shirt on. Gerard grinned when he noticed she was a fan.
She lifted her head up and looked at the guys with wide eyes. “Oh my gosh...” She barely managed out.
Frank laughed and stuck his hand out. “Frank Iero, miss Annabelle.”
“I. I know who you all are...”
“Okay, so now that thats done, and we all know each other, Why are you in the alley at 11:43 at night, and why are you crying?” Mikey asked, being the one that didn't like staying on one topic.
“My. My parents.” She sniffled. “They didn't pick me up and I have no idea how to get home. I don't have an phone so i couldn't call them and i came alone.”
Mikey glanced at Gerard who was frowning. He pulled Frank’s phone out of the pocket where it was being held, and handed it to the girl.
“Here, call your parents and tell them you're on your way. We’ll take you home.” He smiled softly.
She nodded slowly and dialed her parents number. “Mom... Yeah. I'm safe... Some friends are taking me home... Yeah I’ll be home soon... Bye..”
She handed Frank his phone and smiled. Ray grabbed her hand and led her to their bus. They were gonna be a little late, but their manager Brian would probably understand.
About 30 minutes later they arrived at her house. She hugged them all and said goodbye, exiting the bus and walking to her front door. She waved a final time and went inside. The guys headed back to their hotel and with one thing in mind. Annabelle. They would never forget her.
