"Virus X has gone rampant, infecting now up to fifty-six percent of the population worldwide. The parasite infects like rabies: bites, scratches, or receiving blood or saliva from the infected in open wounds or areas. If infected, it can take up to two weeks to fully turn, and as little as hours or minutes if you're unlucky. Symptoms would be loss of appetite, cold sweats, paleness, trembling, drowsiness, loss of awareness, vomiting blood, and intense illness. Please be careful. Stay sheltered. Check your food for contamination. And most importantly, survive. May God be with us-"

The radio switched off, cutting the reporter's last words of faith. Taehyung snapped back, grimacing at the person behind him.

"What the fuck man," Taehyung whined as his shoulder drooped dully.

The other behind him shrugged. "She wasn't saying anything important."

"Other than the percentage of infected, last week it was forty-eight percent." Taehyung nipped at his bottom lip anxiously, he couldn't help these harsh rampant thoughts as he sat on the dirt ridden ground within the large refuged tent. "Hoseok, are we gonna die?"

"No," he snapped back, him practically yelling at the younger. "Why would you even think that?"

"It's getting worse, our numbers are depleting." Hoseok didn't think Taehyung would notice as well, but as people came back from missions outside of the reserve, the military has been returning with fewer and fewer survivors as well as their own soldiers.

Taehyung was afraid that soon the two would be drafted into the army and forced out the reserve for rescue missions. Their refuge in Busan was not the safest, nor was it amazingly fortified. It felt like a prison more than anything.

The heart of Seoul was the only place you could live somewhat normally. Jobs, family, homes, and especially safety. The only fault was the trip there, the Busan reserve would transferring many people on large vans across the country; most trips remained unsuccessful.

Taehyung decided to turn back on the radio, turning the knobs in hopes of finding some music to calm his internalized fear. It's not often Taehyung hears the harmonious tunes of music, most radio shows were now obsolete. There wasn't a need for music when no one would listen anyway.

But of course.

Taehyung still loved to listen.

It was old 60s music, Taehyung enjoying the muses from the device. As he listened, Hoseok stepped out of their tent, curious from the odd amount of ruckus outside. Taehyung assumed military personnel had returned from a rescue mission, for he ignored the small shouts and figures darting past the opening of the tent. He soon closed his eyes and began to hum along.

All my love
Give me the right to give you
All my love
With all my might
I'd give you all my love
If I had only half a chance

One thing he couldn't ignore was the long-held absence of his friend and the peculiar amount of people that rushed past his tent.

With inquiry, he stood up, approaching the opening and peeking his head through the weighted cloths.

Into your world
Oh, let me come and bring you
All my love
No other one could give you half the love
That I feel in my heart for you

Taehyung felt all his breath become whisked from his struggled lungs; his heart was plagued with fear and his feet were like stone to the ground. Shivers trickled down his spine just as blood curdling screams rattled in his ears.

Beholding his eyes, was something he'd hope to never see.

The infected.

They were everywhere, running rampant throughout the small reserve. Survivors and soldiers alike were all getting bombarded by them, the beast jumping at their backs to then ravage at their exposed necks or faces. And as soon as bitten, the rotten body of flesh ran to implant his disease into others. It's drive to spread was even stronger than death itself.
