Taehyung's whole body jostled up as the van hit a bump, waking the boy from his short-lived nap. The boy had fallen asleep on the cold metal of the van, the seats rendered to the sides being swarmed by all other passengers. Taehyung eased from the dirtied bottom of the moving van, the cluster of people practically pushing him against the clasped doors of the vehicle.

He wondered how Hoseok was doing at this very moment. Was he sleeping? does he have any snacks? Was he thinking of Taehyung as well?

Those inquiries floundered around his head as he looked up at the person across from him. Sitting at one of the side benches was a teenage girl, not too far from Taehyung's current age. She sat next to her mother as the woman kept her tucked under her wing. Worry beckoned at the back of Taehyung's mind as the young girl shivered. He wondered if he should spare her his jacket.

As he was about to do so -- removing his backpack -- he noticed the girl's shivers transition more into trembles. A few people muttered but ignored the rigidity quakes of the girl's entire body. Yet, Taehyung couldn't help but focus on her condition, sweat practically raining from her pores as some foamed goop dripped from her lips.

Was she having a seizure or something? Taehyung wouldn't be able to tell.

The girl gripped at her mother's sweater, gnawing softly at her shoulder as her head crackled side to side. Her mother tried to hush her tearfully, but her eyes spoke more than her voice. She had excepted the consequences of all her terrible decisions leading up to now.

Taehyung pulled his bag back over his shoulders upon seeing the blood ooze through the woman white sweater, it was evidently masked to others by the darkness of the night, but the boy was close enough to see for himself. Something was unfolding right before his eyes, something horrendous. The young girl had been bitten just ten hours earlier at the reserve.

She was infected.

Taehyung backed away, ready to yell out, but the darkness of the night was far more quick. The teenage girl jarred out at the closest person to her, slashing her teeth in a manic state across their neck as they shrieked in terror. Panic irrupted as her mother quickly succumbed to a state of seizing -- a lot quicker than her daughter -- before rushing towards as many people as possible in a frenzied might.

The mound of people pushed against Taehyung, causing him to shuffle farther toward the back end of the van, nearly being crushed against the small back doors. The boy gazed over the open area above the doors, being able to see the ground pass underneath the heavy-duty machine. He realized he didn't have too many options at the moment, amidst all of this, he climbed over those small back doors of the hefty van.

He was going to jump.

A gunshot soon flared through the air, presumably from one of the soldiers trying to contain their outbreak amongst the bus. As a reaction, people began to push even farther past the bus, knocking Taehyung off completely as he had no time to brace for the impact.

He landed on his back, his bag luckily absorbing all of the shock from the impact as he tumbled down the mowed dirt path. Dust kicked up from not only Taehyung's skidding form but the veering van as well, it began to careen.

The boy coughed out, sitting up in the dirt, masked by only night as a collision immerge. The van had collided with a tree. Other survivors began to run and scream, like squirming little insects. This ruckus would only attract more infected, but fortunately, their eyesight wasn't too grand at night.

"Shit," Taehyung muttered, scrambling to his feet to then run. Snarls and crazed growls were heard all around him, and the boy could only watch in a silent fear as the infected devoured every fleeing body from that van.
