OK, Dreamers! It's time to know who has won the Big Dream in each genre. As results come in, we'll roll them out in this book.
But, we thought we'd introduce ourselves a bit better first.
What's the story behind your username?
Honestly, I was fourteen when I created it so I can't really remember. I think I had been wanting to make it something inspirational with 'The sky is the limit' but had to shorten it down to sky_is_limit. But I love it, it's part of me and I get so happy when people call me Sky because it's familiar, you know?
Where are you from?
I was born in California, but moved to Georgia when I was four and have lived here ever since. You can call me a Georgian, but I love my California roots.
What inspired you to come to wattpad?
Wowzers, honestly, I wanted to read One Direction fanfiction. Before, I would read little one shots on Instagram, but my friends cousin told me about Watt and I decided to download it. This was back in 2013 and I've had it ever since. Caused me to start writing too!
Where did the story idea for your most popular work come from?
I recently just found out that Almost Gone, my most popular, had originally been a fanfiction that I was going to write about Harry Styles. I love paranormal things, that's no secret and I had wanted to create my own take on The Ghost Whisperer (a show that I've always loved) and The Ghost Files. The Ghost Files is a book I read on wattpad a long time ago and it helped inspire Almost Gone. I'm still waiting for a motion picture...
How often do you write and what are some of your writing habits?
Oof, I'll be the first to say that I'm...disorganized and that's how I stay organized. My writing is all over the place and I don't have a particular schedule. I guess when I feel inspired and my head is full of the next scene is when I write. I also have a job so I work around that and laziness. My habits...I'll leave a story for decades before coming back. It's a bad habit I can't seem to shake. But I'm happy to say that recently I've been doing good with writing and I have prewritten chapters, so yay!
What do you do when you get writers block?
I leave the story and let it sit. Not good because I can let it sit for as long as a month to as long as three years which I did with Almost Gone. Another thing I do is listen to some music. I find that it helps calm me down and kind of puts me in the mood to write. While what I write may not be perfect, there's always room to edit. So, don't let the block keep you out!
