Zai answers 3 questions:
1. For a DIYUE fan reader who will read your works for the very first time, which amongst your stories will you suggest that they read first?
Nocturnal Reveries, "To Wang He Di"
2. Why?
I wrote this during The Inn's last recording. The mood in the fandom then was somber so I wanted to write something heartwarming. This was what I came up with, mainly because I wanted to pay homage to the real-life memories that DiYue have shared up to that point, but also because I was inspired by Yueyue saying she liked to write down the good things people have done for her. It was also challenging to write in her point of view because she never really thoroughly talked about what she thought of Didi (except touching upon it during interviews or during The Inn's last episode), so this was quite special for me. Through this, I hope to be able to give justice to her 'thoughts' and paint a picture of their delightful connection.
3. What is your favorite line in this story?
"That night, you asked me what other things do I like about you. Everything that I've said here is not even half of it. I like you. Always have. But liking you is just a product of everything that you've done for me. It's the accumulation of every little thing you've done, every single word you've said and every minuscule deed that you've shown. It's not this and that. It's the sum of everything, all wrapped into one sweet, thoughtful, kind, funny human — you."
