Stefani sat down in their local library hall with the kids. They attended these events once a month, where the kids get to listen to a different author each time who reads a kids book with them and plays some games. A lot of schools attended these things, so the full hall didn't surprise her.

"What's going on with you lately Stef?" Sarah, her closest co-worker asked. As they sat towards the back giving them leeway to talk.

"What do you mean?"

"You seem off. You're just not yourself."

"It's nothing."

"You know you can talk to me right?"

"I know." She sighed. She's been such good friends with Sarah for years, she doesn't actually know why she kept this all from her. She was her friend, before her co-worker.

"I was seeing someone." She said simply. Making Sarah look at her fast, it nearly made her laugh.

"What? Since when? Oh my god, who?"

"A couple weeks, but it's over now. It was Ella Coopers uncle." She whispered. Scared to see the expression on her friends face.

"What? Shut up!" sarah playfully slapped Stefani's arm.

"What's the hitting for woman?" Stefani laughed.

"You mean the drop dead handsome firefighter. Stefani why am I only hearing about this NOW?"

"That's the one." She tightly smiled. "Because we were keeping it on the down low. I'm sorry, I know I should have told you."

"What happened?" Her tone changing once she realised they weren't together anymore.

"Jonathan is what happened." She said simply.

"What? Jonathan as in..."

"Yup.. as in him." She pointed over to the fake over enthusiastic teacher talking to the principle.

"I'm not following?"

"He saw us, together. During the trip. And told me if I don't end it, he'll ruin my career."

"What the fuck. This isn't a plot of a teen movie?"

"I know. But the way he can word it and twist it, he just freaked me out. Like he's a kids uncle, I was with him during a school event, there were kids around. Like I could easily loose my job for that. I panicked and ended it."

"Oh stef."

"I'm okay."

"No you're not."

Their attention was brought away from each other, when they noticed a commotion at the other side of the room.

"What's going on?" She stood up. Looking over to where her kids were all sat. As fire alarms began soaring through the room. Deafening.
She felt her heart race. Was it a drill? They wouldn't have a fire drill with hundreds of kids and numerous schools there. When guests have come in. She looked to Sarah. They made their way over. To the commotion of adults, as the kids all began shooting up from their seats.

"What's going on!" Stefani asked?

"EVERYONE EVACUATE BUILDING NOW! EVERYONE EVACUATE BUILDING NOW!" started playing over the speakers, making everyone panic.
