Jared's POV
I was woken up by the bright sunlight that shined in my eyes. I opened my eyes and rubbed them. I turned to look at Jess beside me, but she wasn't there.
"Jess?" I called out, getting up from the bed.
I heard Jess in the bathroom vomiting.
I raced into the bathroom and see a green-faced Jess clutching the toilet bowl as she throws up. I pulled her hair behind her shoulders and rubbed her back.
"It's just morning sickness babe. I'll be fine." Jess gagged and heaved.
I peered into the toilet, it didn't look like it was just morning sickness or sound like it.
"I'm taking you to the doctor." I said firmly.
"No!" She complained and vomited again.
"What if something is wrong with the baby?" I asked her.
Jess was silent.
"We're going." I said and lifted her up from the floor.

"I'm telling you that it's just morning sickness!" She said all the way to the doctor's.
"It may be, but I don't want to take the risk." I said gently.
"You know I hate doctors..." Jess said quietly.
"It's for your own good and for the baby's." I gave a small smile and kissed her forehead as we pulled into a parking space.
We walked in and I checked in for Jess.
"Jessica Leto." I said to the lady at the desk.
"You can go right on in to room 4." She smiled flirtatiously.
I thanked her and grabbed Jess's hand.
She glared at me.
"What?" I said innocently.
"That girl was flirting with you!" She whispered.
"But I didn't flirt back." I counteracted.
"And you better not." Jess squeezed my hand and sat on the examination table.
"Hello, I'm Dr. Williams. I'm not your regular doctor, but I'll have to do for today." He smiled cheerfully.
Jess introduced herself and pointed at me, "This is my husband, Jared."
"Hi Dr. Williams." I smiled.
"Ah, yes. I know who you are. My wife loves your acting." The man smiled.
"That is greatly appreciated," I said.
"So, what seems to be the problem today?" He asked.
"Morning sickness." Jess said.
"I don't think it's morning sickness, Dr. Williams. She was throwing up a lot of blood this morning and she hasn't been very well. I've noticed that she has been weaker and switches between being very hot or very cold." I said concerned.
Jess shot me a look.
"Well, that is a little alarming." He concurred. "Let me take some blood work and the other basic tests." He got up and put on his stethoscope.
The doctor scribbled something down on his notepad and checked her blood pressure.
"Your blood pressure is good." He said.
"That's good," Jess said, trying to make conversation.
"How far along are you?" He asked.
"5 weeks." Jess said proudly.
"And 3 days." I added, equally as proud.
"Aren't you an excited father?" Dr. Williams gave a warm smile.
"I am." I said.
"Alright Jess, are you afraid of needles?" He asked.
I smiled, remembering Jess getting her third tattoo.
"Nope!" She said and the needle went in. Jess didn't even flinch.
"We'll send it in to a lab, but I will be right back with some more definite answers. We have a small lab here, it isn't as advanced, but it can rule out some diagnoses." Dr. Williams said and left the room.
"Come here, baby." I opened my arms for her to come sit in my lap.
Jess got down and curled up in my lap, soon dozing off.
Jess's POV
"Jess, Dr. Williams is back." Jared nudged my shoulder.
"Sorry!" I said wide awake. "I dozed off." I blushed.
"That's okay," he chuckled.
"So what are the results?" Jared asked.
"Well, I hope you are optimistic people." He said a little unsure.
My eyes widened and Jared gripped my hand tighter.
"It's not morning sickness. You definitely have something wrong with your body." He paused and licked his lips. "It could be cancer."
I sucked in the air around me and I buried my head into Jared's chest. His heart was beating faster than a race horse's.
"But it may not be! We are sending your blood work to a special lab and we will have your definite results within 48 hours." He said.
"Thanks," I said weakly and stood up. My knees were shaking so bad that I could barely walk.
I lost my balance and fell into Jared's lap. Jared picked me up bridal style and carried me to the car.
