Present:

After tying the knot in the back of my black half apron, I walked up to the front of the coffee shop to take orders. I smiled at Julianna, who had just moved here from France.

She was about to turn twenty two, and was engaged to a man from here in Brooklyn, so that's why she had moved.

There wasn't to many people in the cafe yet, concidering it was seven in the morning but give it thirty minutes, and there wouldn't even be time to breath.

Julianna was talking to one of the girls who was giggling about some random gossip, while I just said the usual 'what can i get you', and reached for my sharpie.

"A caramel frappachino please." I snap my head up at the voice. All i saw at first was a dark brown mop, then met with pale skin, only to follow by the eye to eye contact with the beautiful golden-brown eyes I had know for years.

"SAMMY!" I shout, a little to loudly. He laughed as the couple of people who actually were in the cafe turned to look at me. Sammy grinned and asked me how things were going.

I shrugged, "Collage is kind of boring, concidering i don't really know anyone, and my apartment is tiny but besides that? I'm totally fine," I said, giving a chuckle, to show i was joking.....

for the most part.

He gave his famous lop-sided grin that had every girl at his beck and call,"Good, that's good," he muttered. I took a good look at him. He had dark circes under his eyes and seemed to be be running off of pure caffine.

He sinced my concern and quickly tried to dismiss it with a quick smile, but I'm not stupid. "okay," I said,"here's your order," he quickly grabbed it and left, not looking back as he exited.

A couple of days had passed since then. I was currently in Central park with Julianna, keeping her company because her fiancee Lawrence was working on getting their marridge licence.

I had heard nothing from Sam and was getting worried. He always would talk to me at least every other day. I had called his girlfriend, Courtney, but she had said in her snotty rich voice "I haven't heard from him, but id prefer for you to stay away from MY boyfriend. Hes probably trying to get away from you without breaking you pathetic ego."

Yeah, I hated his girlfriend.

She could tell I had feeling for Sammy, even though I had tried to cover them up. I didn't want to ruin the friendship between us, because he would never, ever like me, so I had to move on.

I had told Julianna about the whole thing. She had told me that she thought Lawrence would never like her because she was different than everyone, and had had a lover at the time, but he had dumped her because she had been to uptight and snotty. Thats what I love about Julianna, she always saw the positive, but was very down to earth.

Everything would turn out good in the end, she always said,

but would it?
