Rose's POV

It was Walter. Dalton turned the radio almost to silent so that I could talk.

"Dalton, that's really not necessary, I don't need to take-" I started, but Dalton interrupted me.

"Rose. Take the call. It's fine." he said, never taking his eyes off of the road. Sophie, I noticed, had quieted down real quick when she heard us talking. She looked at me, her eyes wide and nervous. She tried to smile encouragingly at me, but it came out as more of a grimace.

I hit the accept button and put my phone up to my ear.

"Hello?" I asked hesitantly. Dalton's knuckle, wrapped around the steering wheel, turn white as his grip tightened.

"Young lady! Do you know where I've been today? The police station, that's where! Filing a MISSING PERSONS REPORT!!! You have been gone for TWO DAYS!!! Shelia and I are worried sick!" He screamed at me. At the mention of the she-witch's name, a loud wail sounded through the phone, and I heard Walter console my stepmomster. For a second, I believed she was actually worried about me. Then she cried out "Oh, my poor baby Rose!! When will she come home?!?" and more of her howling followed. I rolled my eyes and opened my mouth to say something, but Walter beat me to it.

"Do you see what you are doing to Shelia? Upsetting her could hurt the baby!!" He raged at me. I snapped. I was tired of all this crap he was spewing.

"The baby!?! Are you f*cking serious?!? I have been gone for two days and all you care about is that thing? You can't bring yourself to care about your living child, how the Hell do you expect to want the unborn one?!?!" I yelled into the phone. I snapped it shut (yes I still had a flip phone, no money remember?) and in my anger, I threw it out of the open window. Stupid move right? I really didn't care. I rolled up the window, and turned the radio back up. A My Chemical Romance song was playing. Sophie suddenly burst out laughing.

"What?" I asked her.

"You--you really- threw your phone---out the window?" She asked between laughs. Her laughing was apparently contagious, because Dalton started to laugh with her, and I started laughing too. I realized how ridiculous it was, how ridiculous I was acting, but I really didn't care. I was having a great time, and no one, not even Walter, could ruin that.
