"Are you sure? You are ready to go back?"
Brielle always asked me those questions since I told her that I am ready to go back in the Philippines. At paulit-ulit lang ang sagot na sinasabi ko but she's not fully convinced.
"Are you nervous for me? Please don't" pabiro kung irap
"Of course not! But yes, I am not there to ---"
"I can take care of myself Eli" I stopped doing things in my luggage to come to her. I hugged her tightly. I will surely miss her.
"I just don't want you to be hurt again" she said and hug me tighter.
I laughed a little bit on what she have said. I guess so too? But I am more that willing to take the risk rather than staying here but dying. I just give her the best hug that I can give. She deserved it, for being a good friend even at my lowest.
"I will be okay. You trained me so well" pabiro kung sabi
"Baliw" she laughed, then kissed me on my head.
"I will prepare our lunch. I am sure enough mami-miss mo luto ko" tumayo na sya at lumabas na ng kwarto habang may sarcastic look na iniwan saken.
Loka-loka talaga.
After she closed the door. I sighed in relief.
This is my battle. It's been 4 years since I left, to choose your battle by your own even it means losing him, everything.
I grabbed my recording stuff to take a record.
"Hi, Crispin. Alara is still here. I am doing okay right now, ready to go back in the Philippines after 4 fucking years. " I laughed, as if he will hear all of this.
"I missed you."
"Eli told me to not go back there! What did you do? Kidding" I started crying
I stopped recording. I know that going back to the Philippines means inflicting so many pain to all the people that I owed. But this is me as well, trying to live and fight back in what I have before. Mahirap sumugal, pero mas mahirap maging malungkot, nakakamatay.
Tumunog ng malakas ang cellphone ko sa lakas ng sound. May istorbo na naman.
"What?" naiinis pa ako sa pagkakagising
"How was it? Nakatulog kaba ng maayos dyan sa condo ko?" Eli asked
"Ano sa tingin mo? What the fudge. It's just 6 here in the morning Eli" I hear her giggling
"Oh I am sorry. I just wanted to check up on you. Look I am cooking for my lunch" sabay pakita nya ng pasta na niluluto nya. Nang inggit pa.
