A very bruised and beaten man slowly backed into a corner. He had his hands up in the air and was very scared. The area around him was a gas station in the middle of a desert completely in ruins. "Please, don't do anything to me, I'll do anything, anything!" He yelled. Dr. Dean hovered above him, his head now slightly swollen and tinted red. Small jolts of red electricity surged in and out of his head. He wore a long trench coat and dress pants. His eyes were glowing red. "I suppose you're of no use to me. After all, your dna would not add much to my already amazing intellect. However, I can't allow you to be the sole survivor, that's not much fun. Once my empire begins, you would just get lost in the fray of subjects. Therefore..." he calmly said to the man. Dr. Dean extended his arm toward the ground. Red lighting shot out of his palm and hit the floor, grabbing a chunk of earth and pulling it up into the air. He looked back at the man. The man gulped and closed his eyes, accepting his fate. Dr. Dean trusted his arm towards the man and the piece of ground flew at him, crushing the man underneath it. The doctor stopped hovering and walked out of the small building. Around him were a few piles of ash on the ground, as well as destroyed vehicles and gas pumps. "Hm. As the most intelligent being in the universe and the future ruler of Earth, I could use a little extra muscle. But where to begin. Where do you think I should begin?" He talked to himself as if he was more than one being. "Oh, I've got it. The school. With so many students and teachers there, I'm bound to be able to get some to join me. And those who don't will just add to my power." He smiled. "Fantastic. Now, I'll just need to head to the school. Oh, this is going to be excellent. Finally, I'll be recognized for my genius and will be the one true leader this world needs." He extended his arms out wide and clapped his hands together. Red lighting swirled around and completely engulfed him. It went away, leaving nothing behind. The red lightning appeared in the back of the school parking lot. Dr. Dean stepped out and looked around as the lightning faded away. "Ah, my old mind-prison. Time for a snack." He said to himself as he began walking towards the front entrance. Inside, Jack sat in one of his classes. His eyes were half open and his hand was pushed up against his face as he started to nod off. He closed his eyes fully and nearly fell asleep when he was suddenly jolted up. The hairs on his body stood straight up and his head started to tingle. He looked around quickly, trying to see what his Spidey Sense was alerting him to. Other students in the class looked at him as if he was crazy and some laughed at him. Jack quickly raised his hand. "Can I use the bathroom?" He said to the teacher. "Yes, but make it fast. This lesson is important." The teacher responded. Jack nodded and ran out of the classroom. He pulled out his phone as he walked down the hallway towards the stairs. Guys. My Spidey Sense is tingling. Something's not right. Meet me at the stairs in 30 seconds. He typed out and sent a message to a group chat with his friends in it. Shortly after, everyone met up with him. "What's going on?" Mackenzie asked. "I don't know yet. I was sitting in class and my Spidey Sense went off randomly." Jack told them. He turned to Grace. "Are you done with the suit yet?" She shook her head. "I haven't gotten a chance to add the finishing touches, but it's mostly done. I had to edit some of the additions you made to it to better fit with my software, but other than that it's good. The only thing that's missing is web fluid. Do you have any on you?" "I have some in my backpack. I'm gonna need the suit in case anything happens." Jack's Spidey Sense got stronger. "Ok, something's definitely up. I'm gonna walk around and see if I can figure out what it-" Jack was cut off by the sound of screams coming from downstairs. "No time now. Grace, go to my locker and get the web fluid from my backpack. I need the suit ASAP. Ian and Mackenzie, you come with me. Let's go!" Jack shouted. Grace nodded and ran towards Jack's locker. Jack jumped down the entire flight of stairs and landed in his signature pose, crouched down with one hand on the ground and one hand in the air. Ian slid down one of the hand rails to the bottom, along with Mackenzie on the other side. "Try not to be too suspicious." Jack said as they fast walked towards the front entrance. "Web shooters on." He said out loud. The bracelets on each of his wrists reacted and formed his backup web shooters. They reached the cafeteria where they saw students and staff running in a panic. Jack looked around and saw Dr. Dean standing over someone. He zapped the student and turned them to ash. "What the- Jake?" Jack yelled. Dr. Dean turned to the three. "Jack! Ian! Kenzie! You guys are here! Perfect! You three will be my royal guard!" Ian stepped forward. "What... what happened to you? You were on the trip to South America, how are you back? And how are you like this?" Dr. Dean laughed. "Can't you see? I've evolved! I have broken the bonds of a normal human and become what I was always meant to become. I am the rightful leader of this mortal world!" One of the school's faculty workers, Iandola, ran up to the group. "What are you doing? Get out of here!" He shouted at them. Dr. Dean frowned. "Excuse me, I was talking to them." He hovered and shot lightning at Iandola, lifting him into the air. Dr. Dean drew him closer and tapped him on the forehead. Iandola screamed as his entire body turned a bright red. He turned to ash and fell to the ground in front of the group. They all screamed in terror at the sight. Dr. Dean smiled at them. "There we go. Now all I need to do is drain the life essence of everyone here and I'll be ready." Jack looked up at him. "Jake, this is-" "DO NOT CALL ME THAT." He shouted. "My name is not 'Jake'. My name is Dr. Dean and you will respect me." "Sorry," Jack said, "but I don't respect PSYCHOPATHS." Dr. Dean got very angry. "Then die!" He shouted as his shot his electricity towards them. Jack grabbed Ian and Mackenzie and pulled them backwards, dodging the attack. They ran back towards the stairs. As they did, Ian pulled the Ongoing Threat alarm, which was newly installed in the school to evacuate everyone. It went off and the classrooms all opened, flooding students into the halls. "You guys find Grace! I'm gonna stay here and make sure that nothing happens to anyone!" Jack shouted to Ian and Mackenzie. "Right!" They said in unison and ran up the stairs. Dr. Dean flew into the hallway and saw all the students leaving. He gave an evil smile and started to attack them. Jack stayed hidden from him. As the doctor tried to shock a student, Jack shot a web and pulled the back of the doctor's hand upwards, sending the lightning through the roof. "What?!" Dr. Dean shouted. He spun around and looked through the crowd. Jack ran through the mob of students and out the doors in the open area he had fought Phage. He stopped after a few feet and fought back against the flow of kids trying to get out. Dr. Dean started to drain more students, so Jack shot another web. It hit the doctor in the head, causing him to look and see Jack. "What? It's you? You're... the Spider!" He yelled. Jack ducked and started crawling, carefully avoiding feet. He darted to the left, got out of sight of everyone, and started to climb the side of the building. When he got to the top, he saw Dr. Dean waiting for him. "Jake, I don't want to have to hurt you." Jack said cautiously. "You...were the Spider the whole time. Just think of the possibilities there are if we work together! We can rule the planet!" Dr. Dean said. His madness started to take over. "Jake, this is bad. You're killing people for no reason and I can't let that happen. I'm sorry, but I have no choice." Jack said. Dr. Dean sighed. "Such wasted potential." He made a fist and shot lightning at Jack, who jumped out of the way and ran across the roof. Dr. Dean followed, shooting bolts at Jack as he went. Jack reached the edge of the building and saw Ian, Grace, and Mackenzie at the bottom. In Grace's hand was the spider emblem holding his suit. Jack looked back and saw Dr. Dean approaching fast. He looked back at Grace and jumped off. She threw the emblem perfectly so it stuck to Jack's chest. The suit formed immediately. It covered his entire body and started to glow. Different from his previous suit, all of the green was replaced by an orange-red color. His eyes lit up when he hit the ground. "You guys ready?" Jack asked. "We're ready!" Mackenzie said back to him. Dr. Dean lowered himself off the roof to face the group. "Now you're all gonna turn on me? I thought we were friends. I thought we were gonna do everything together our whole lives! Now you all have to die!" He shouted at them. "You're not against them Jake. You're against me." Jack said to him. "Fine. If you're volunteering to be first, so be it." Dr. Dean lunged at Jack and tried to drain him. Jack flipped to the left and shot webs at the doctor, who waved his hand to the right. Lightning flashed in front of him and dissipated the webs. "Ok, guess directly shooting him is out." Jack said to himself. "Guys, I need a little help here." He said into his earpiece. "I've got you. Although I have to stay hidden. I don't have a mask on me." Ian responded. As Jack avoided Dr. Dean, Ian pulled out a tiny sphere and pressed the top of it. It grew in size and started to glow. He threw it at Dr. Dean and, upon contact, it exploded and knocked the doctor out of the air. Jack ran over and started to web the doctor to the ground as Ian went and hid behind a car to avoid being seen. Jack kept webbing Dr. Dean, but the lightning surrounding him surged and destroyed all of Jack's progress. Mackenzie ran up next with metal gauntlets that covered both of her hands. She stood her ground and started blasting bursts of energy at Dr. Dean, who avoided all of them. "Enough!" He shouted and waved his arms in both directions, freezing everyone in place. "You all have made big mistakes trying to face me. Unfortunately for you, you're weak. I'm sorry it had to go down this way." He hovered toward Jack and readied his power. Before he could drain him, Grace ran underneath them. She hadn't been frozen and threw small devices on each person's body. "What?" Dr. Dean looked down at her. She smirked at him and hit a button. Without fail, everyone faded away. "No. No! Noooo!" Dr. Dean shouted in anger as the friends disappeared completely. When Jack opened his eyes next, the school and Dr. Dean were nowhere to be found. He was in the middle of a jungle, his friends along side him.
