Prologue & Characters

In this world full of magic, everyone has a soulmate. That is shown in the form of a single strand of hair. You can try to dye it. You can try to cut it off. But it will never leave until you form that bond with your soulmate. Whenever your soulmate dyes their hair, the strand will change to that colour. Pretty neat, right? Wrong.

What happens when you are called a freak? Or a weirdo? Most people find their soulmate by the time they're in college or sometimes even in highschool. However, one girl in particular, Scarlett. She has yet to find out who it is. She hides her strand of dark purple hair with fear. She rarely shows it. But, she plays with the strand and longs to find who has been making her life hell.

Scarlett:

What used to be vibrant ginger hair is now a dark wine red, her eyes have become a greyish blue pool of hidden emotions. She has a strand of dark purple that she hides with the rest of her hair by flipping some of it over to the left side. She lost her best friend at the age of nine when he had to move away for a better life. She is excitable, yet cold. Happy, yet fierce. Brave, yet sensitive.

Adrien: 

His dark purple hair is slowly being overtaken by his almost black roots, he doesn't mind it though. He's a huge anime fan yet he isn't as weird as others with the addiction. He does have a collection but that is yet to be shown to the world. He's worked his ass off to get to where he is, independently. He feels the need to not let others get in his way and do things by himself. He is cheerful and fun to be around yet he prioritises his time alone.

Vienna:

Her vibrant pink hair stands out from all the crowds which is completely similar to her personality. She's bubbly, artistic and flexible physically and mentally. She is a delight to be around like Adrien yet she can be hotheaded at times. She hates it when she sees bullies in action and deals with them herself.

Katy:

Her original bleach blonde hair was dyed a sea blue with no regrets. Generally, she is entertaining to others and extremely generous. However, she gets really lazy and sometimes selfish. The main problem with her is that she has an unhealthy obsession with selfies. She's a huge supporter of LGBTQ+ rights and will fight for what she believes in with her girlfriend.

Carla:

Katy's girlfriend with mocha coloured hair that compliments her sun kissed skin. She's shy about her looks and sexuality. She argues with Katy sometimes but loves her deeply which makes it so that she never wants to leave her. She lets Katy take control of situations.

Maximillian:

Katy's best friend, they're inseparable and he knows about Carla's insecurities. He always tries to help those in need. He's got dirty blonde hair that covers one of his green eyes.

Shane:

This is a nineteen year old who seems to always have his nose buried in a book or other people's business. His white hair is now a dark violet which makes his black eyes stand out. He has a phobia of heights and has an addiction to video games that Katy helped him realise when he was sixteen. He has a hidden tattoo of a bookshelf between his shoulder blades.
