P.S.: corrections haven't been made yet, but I'll add them later! 😊

Clary's first reaction to seeing this lady was defense stance. So that's what she did. But before Clary could say anything the woman standing at a halt in front of her said, "My God." Clary stared at this woman with hatred. Clary, assuming who it was automatically got ready to throw her knife when her head suddenly pounded. She fell to the floor, feeling a wave pass over her head so strong she thought her brain would explode. Images flashed before her eyes much too quickly for her to remember in her unconscious state. But she knew as she saw them, they were memories of a life. A past life that she didn't even know existed. A man with soft features placing a comic on the shelf. A woman with Clary's hair sitting at an easel painting. Then a little boy with glasses, star wars teeshirt, and big smile. Clary saw everything, perfectly. But as soon as it was there, it was gone. She got up, and the woman with hair like hers was still staring in shock. This was Jocelyn, the woman who had left her. That was Luke, the dog she had left her for. Clarissa wanted to lunge, wanted to take out all these built up emotions of rage. She wanted to kill her slowly. Clary just couldn't seem to do this, though. "Clarissa? How? I just... Oh God." Jocelyn said.

Clary, feeling as if she had no control over herself screamed, " SHUT UP! SHUT UP, damn it."

Clary let herself take a good look at the woman who was never there. "I ought to kill you right here and right now. You know, mommy dearest it's not the nicest thing to do. To leave your child for a damn dog. I ought to kill him too, and who knows? I just might. I should take him away from you. Hmmm... To take one of the most crucial people in a persons life away from them? Sounds evil. Like mother like daughter, eh mommy?" Jocelyn stared, shocked. Yet determination still rang through her voice as she said, "Who did I take from you? I haven't seen you in years! How are you even alive?"

"Who did you take from me? Oh, I can not believe you even have the nerve. You left your daughter! You took yourself away! You took the only mother figure I had...away!" Clary straightened, gaining hold on the tiniest piece of Valentines teachings left in her at the moment saying, "Not that I needed one. I turned out just fine. I know how to kill mommy, does that make you proud? There's not a single demon I can't defeat, not a fight I can lose, and not a war I can't win." Jocelyn's jaw dropped, "Honey, please. Sit down I need to explain-" "Explain what? Look mother," Clary said the word with malice, a hatred so strong building up within her as she spoke "I know everything. I know everything about you without ever having you there." Jocelyn, bewildered into silence, turned her head when Clary heard Luke speak for the first time. Luke, staring directly at Clary, asked "Where? Where have you been all these years?" Clary laughed mercilessly, saying "You keep your mouth shut, you dog. Just keep your blood hound nose out of this. In fact, just go into the bedroom, before I really decide to take my anger out and kill you." He did. Jocelyn then spoke, "No. No you wouldn't. You say you know me, when you don't. I don't know you either, yet I do know you wouldn't kill an innocent." Well, to bad I already have, thought Clary. Images of Vampire clans, wear wolf packs, just downworlders of all kinds that she killed passed through her head... "How do you know what I would do and would not do?" There was a long moment of silence, then finally Jocelyn answered, "Like mother, like daughter." Clary stared, but turned when she heard the sound of a creaking door. To her surprise, golden boy walks through the door.

Jaces POV

Well, it's come down to this. Jace, trying to track down Clary. Izzy and Alec had both said they could "care less where Clary was", and "they were going to go to bed". So that's how Jace ended up here, in Magnus's apartment...arguing with him. Magnus was denying that he knew of Clary's whereabouts but Jace knew without a doubt that Magnus was lying. "Look you may not care what happens to her but..." Jace caught himself. Magnus laughed, a laugh that made Jace want to kill the over sparkly warlock, and said "Go on." Jace gave him daggers. "Look, I'm a shadowhunter. We protect people. I found her it's required by law I protect her. So tell me, where the hell is she?" Magnus just laughed sipping his coffee, leaning on his brick fireplace staring at Jace. "Protection? Required by law? Yeah right. We both know the reason, and it's the fact that little red head you haven't known for more than a few hours has got you wrapped around her pretty little finger. But as I am a generous man, I'll just portal you. She may not be the happiest to see you though. Oh well, just tell that Alexander darling to call me sometime." Magnus winked, snapped his fingers, and before Jace knew it he was outside of an apartment door. He opened it to see Clary, who's face looked red hot with as much emotion he'd seen from her...well at all, really. She then just screamed, a loud sound of pain or anger or some emotion he knew he couldn't describe. Then she fell into his arms. Not totally unconscious, but not awake either. He looked around to realize no one was to be found. He thought about checking the bedrooms in the apartment, but decided against it. He just walked out the door, a girl in his hands. He carried her all the way to the institute. Everyone was sleeping, even Church. That was until Jace accidentally stepped on him coming in the doorway... Oops. Jace looked down to find Clary still asleep. He carried her into his room, and put her in bed. No, though he wanted to so badly, he did not sleep with her. He slept on the floor instead. Yes, he knew he could have just put her in her room. But for some reason, it just felt right. It felt right for Clary to wake up in Jaces room, to sleep in Jaces bed. He was thinking all these things till he drifted off to sleep himself.

Magnus POV

Magnus, thinking about the beautiful blue eyed Lightwood boy, heard his doorbell ring. He just snapped his fingers and the door opened itself. If it was a mundane, they'd run and if it was anything else they would know to just come in. Magnus heard light footsteps, till they stopped. He turned his head towards the doorway to see a frantic looking Jocelyn Morgenstern. "Ah, Jocelyn long time, no see." She stared, "My daughter. She's back." Magnus smiled, "Which is why I sent her to you. She staying at the New York Institute. They took her here for me to investigate her because she wouldn't tell them of her past." "Valentine, damn it. I knew it. She had to be with him the whole time!" "Darling, Valentine is dead. If she had been with Valentine we would have found her after all the tracking spells. I can guarantee you that wherever she was it was not Valentines." "Magnus, she came in and... And... she's not human! She wants me dead. She wants Luke dead! I mean-" "Are you saying you wouldn't Jocelyn? She grew up alone, without a mother. She thinks you left her, she has a right to want to kill you." Jocelyn didn't say anything for a while, but finally she spoke up "Who was the blonde boy? A blonde boy came in with runes and I can't let anyone from the shadow world know I'm still alive, so I just ran out the window before he could even see me." "Jace. A Waylands son I think. He was the one to come back for her out of the three that brought her here. The other two were Izzy&Alec Lightwood." "Maryces and Roberts children?" "Yes. Now listen Jocelyn before you make judgements, Clary is in good hands. Before I sent her to your house I put a small memory altering potion in the portal which made it to her. She'll only remember meeting you if I give it to her or something huge triggers it. So, I suggest you don't try to communicate with her again. At least not till I find out what's going on. She doesn't trust you or Luke and would not tell either of you two a thing. But me, maybe. Do we have a deal? I decide when to introduce you two?"

Jocelyn POV

Jocelyn thought of millions upon thousands of reasons to disagree, but just didn't. What was the point? She knew Magnus was right. Clary hated her. She couldn't blame her either. "Just portal me would you?" Magnus did, and before Jocelyn knew it Luke had his arms around her as she sobbed.
