I stared at death. Death stared at me. Finally he spoke.
"Your early!"
I cocked my head.to the side looking at the strange man.
'early? "
"Your not due for another few hundred years"
"Well I'm human aren't i? We can..."
"no your not. You are a demon! "
I watched his face looking for any form of joking or safcasm. None.
"What..."
He touched my forehead and it all flooded back to me. My mother and father. My parents. They ran into my room one night when I was praising the God of the moon. When they did the spirits became angry and attacked me. One attached itself to me.
"Let her out dear okiku"
"Will it hurt?"
"Momentarily"
I nodded and relaxed every muscle in my body and cleared my mind. And when the pain in my chest started I knew it was coming. My body was swiftly shed as I floated next to it.
"What the hell?!"
My body rose to its feet and looked at me.
"My name is nika. I am your demon."
From that day on we became best friends. I never left my body's side and she would freak if she didn't know where I was. Together we lived to the age of 89000. Happy life everyone!
