"So how long has it been since you've been with someone?" Mason asked his best friend as they entered through the school doors that one morning.
"6 months" Liam replied with a sigh as he punched in his locker combo and got out his English textbook that he'll need for first period.
"So you're telling me that you haven't gotten it on with anyone in 6 whole months?" Mason asked, unsure if he'd heard Liam right.
"It's not a big deal, I've been busy these last few months" Liam explained "I'm not exactly ready to jump straight back into something"
"Liam..." Mason said resting both of his hands on Liam's shoulders to get him to look at him "You called it off with him remember...it wasn't the other way around"
"I know..." Liam trailed off, looking at his feet "It was better like that...either break his heart, or drag him into a war based world that is my everyday life"
"I wouldn't exactly call you being a..." Mason looked around quickly before he continued "werewolf a war, I mean it has its benefits, right?"
One of those so called benefits decided to show up, and it was in his experience the worst; heightened hearing.
He turned around at the sound of his laugh, the one he'd fallen for all those months ago. And his name was Theo Raken.
When he looked he saw him, along with Hayden Romero; the most popular -slut in Liam's opinion- cheerleader in their school. She was in her short and way too tight cheerleading outfit and was leaning against the lockers. And there he was with his arm resting on the wall looking all good. They were too close for Liam's liking, and she was touching his shoulder, and he was letting her.
Theo looked straight back at Liam and smirked, resting his hand on top of the girls, and slid his hand down her arm.
"I know he's doing this to make me all jealous...pathetic" though Liam did not break eye contact with the boy.
"And it's not working on you, right?" Mason asked steadily, knowing what the answer will be but asked it anyway.
"Yes it is" Liam huffed, as he balled his hands into fists, trying to keep himself under control.
<~>~<~>
"What does he think he's doing? Trying to make me jealous...huh" Liam scoffed through the phone to Mason."Liam, I understand how you're feeling right now...but it's 2:00am and I would really appreciate it if you'd let me get some sleep" Mason stated, any energy he had remaining at the beginning of the phone call was no longer there.
"Fine...I'm sorry, go to sleep" he gave a quick apology before hanging up.
He threw his phone on the table beside his bed, and then threw himself down on the mattress. He rested his hand on his forearm and stared up at the ceiling for a while, running all the moments he has been through these last 6 months.
Being turned into a werewolf, thrown into a world he hardly knew, having to break up with his boyfriend of 2 years because the Supernatural world was a dangerous place. It was the single most difficult decision he has ever had to come up with.
He groaned when the memories began to overtake his mind, turning over onto his side, pushing his face deeper into the pillow.
Before he knew it, it was 3:36am and he still hadn't gotten a second of sleep. He turned over onto his back and stared up at the ceiling again, grunting when he realised there was only one way he was getting sleep tonight.
So that's where Liam Dunbar was at at 4:00am, outside his ex-boyfriends house. He walked up to the house and rounded the place to where he used to climb all those months ago so Theo's parents wouldn't know he was there.
It was easier than he remembered, and took a lot less effort than before when he wasn't a werewolf. As he went to knock on the boy's bedroom window he stopped himself, realising how stupid this was. He broke up with him, broke the boy's heart...he wouldn't want to talk.
Just as he was about to jump down the window slid open, surprising Liam, and almost caused him to lose his footing and fall of the roof.
"I got you" Theo said grabbing Liam's hand just in time, pulling him up and through the window. Theo pulled away from the boy when he realised they'd been staring at each other for a little too long "What are you doing here?" he asked crossing his arms over his chest, not impressed by his appearance.
"I wanted to um...I came to..." he found it hard to form his sentence, probably should have planned out what he was going to say before hand.
"Came to what?!" Theo said abruptly, not taking the boy's crap "Why are you here Liam...if I remember correctly you decided to break up with me for no-"
"I miss you!!" Liam exclaimed loudly, not remembering about Theo's parents that were just across the hall.
"Miss me!! Miss me!!" Theo scoffed at his statement "You broke up with me Liam...you can't miss me!!" He had a point, but he didn't know the entire story.
"I know" Liam said, feeling guilty and ashamed "But I thought...I didn't think you'd-"
"What Liam? What is it?" Theo asked getting frustrated with the boy in front of him.
"The world I live in is dangerous Theo, and I was not going to drag you into it with a chance of you being killed" Liam closed his eyes at his statement, clearly not wanting to imagine that "I'd rather not be with you and you being alive, than be with you and worrying every day if you're safe" a build of tears were now making their way down his face, and his hands were shaking.
"Liam, it's okay" Theo was now worried about the young boy, he'd never seen him act like this, and it was scaring him immensely.
"I was scared" Theo brought him into a tight hug and just held him in his arms, comforting him.
"Hey...you can tell me anything, I won't blame you for anything, you know that right?" Theo pulled back and held his face in his palms, and brushed away his remaining tears with his thumb.
"Yeah...I know that, but you can't...the second I tell you, you'll never live a normal life again" Liam warned him, knowing how the Supernatural world affects lives.
"If it means I get to be with you for the rest of my life...I'd give up a normal life in a heartbeat" Theo said, wanting to know the secret in the young boy's life.
"Please don't hate me..." Liam trailed off, closing his eyes he took a deep and calming breath. When he opened them again they were no longer his beautiful, mesmerising blue eyes. They were now this golden yellow, that sparkled every few seconds.
"Liam..." Theo said shocked by what he was seeing, shortness of breath "You're a...how did you...what are you?" Theo didn't back away, he still had his hands on either side of Liam's face. He looked more intrigued rather than scared.
"I'm a..." Liam pondered for a second, the second he tells Theo what he is that is it for him, he will no longer have a life of safety. Having to worry everyday if someone will jump out from the dark corners, dealing with full moons, and death being only a few centimetres away with all the rivals out there, does he really want to drag him into a world full of danger?
"Liam, you can tell me, I don't care if I am-"
"I'm a werewolf" He blurted out before Theo got to finish his sentence.
"Wow..." Theo coughed nervously, which only made Liam regret his decision of telling him.
"Oh god I knew I shouldn't have told you...just forget this night happened, you can do that?" Liam walked towards the window, Theo's hands were no longer on his face.
As he was about to lift a leg out of the window Theo grabbed his arm and spun him around to face him.
"Don't you dare think you're leaving me ever again" and with that Theo closed the gap between them, their lips back together in the first time in 6 months. It was perfect.
