Chapter Two - A Careful Question

Zodiac looked at guy in front of him. Even with a permanent smile, eyes see and show a man's heart. His was scarred. He felt so much more and show so little. "I still couldn't care less about you, you cheap housepet." Alex said with absolute saltiness. The bird chuckled. "Being stuck with you three won't be as hard as I thought." Alex relaxed a bit in his chair. Even a grumpy role model has to lighten up a bit. Eliza hugs her big brother and little sister. "C'mon you big sad sacks. Let's go." Emily smiles she points towards the halls. Even being just a year old, she had a knack for exploring the hotel. It was her favourite place. Her favorite person was her big sister. They even looked similar. In actions she's much like her older brother. Best of both worlds. The four began the exploration in the halls, for Emily's sake. The other three had already been around the hotel at least twice. The twins should after nineteen years of life. A faint voice can be heard calling Eliza's name! She stops to look around, the others keep walking, as Alex and Zodi talk about something irrelevant, as Emily crawls to Eliza's legs and hugs tightly. Eliza giggles and picks her up, as she hears someone call for her again. As she stands up she sees the cute Spider Snake paradox hiding behind corner. Eliza giggled at the women. As she approaches her she comes out of her hiding she doesn't let go of the wall. She seems clumsy. "H-Hi Eliza!"
She says shyly. Eliza smiles warmly "Hi Sam!" Emily eyeballs the stranger. Sam smiles as she leans over, letting go of the wall. "H-Hi sweetie! I'm Sa-" She fell. Over nothing. There wasn't anything. Emily looks down at her, clapping and laughing. Sam covers her face out of embarrassment. Eliza sits down and pets her snakeskin-like hair. Emily looks up at Eliza and does the same. Sam starts tearing up and hugs Eliza's waste and Emily. Sam nervously asks the question. One she's been waiting for, for a while. "S-So Eliza… I know I'm 100% gonna get shut down but… We've known each other since we were little… And I don't know what I am… But I know I'm attracted to you. Do you think you could be more than a friend?" She buries her face into the floor. Her hat is too embarrassed to even open it's eye. Eliza's face is red. All of it. Not just her blush makeup this time. "Well… I…" She couldn't take another breakup after… Him. Sam is a close friend. Really close. What would it hurt? "I'd like to give it a try! I think it'd be nice!" She said followed up by Sam looking up in nothing but dead shock. Most of us knew it would happen soon. Emily claps happily. Probably for a different reason but… Alex peers around the corner with concerned eyes. He'd protect her from everything, even love! He want Eliza to be happy and he knows Sam makes her happy and he doesn't want to ruin that, but he just hurts inside seeing it. "She looks so happy, so why am I sad?" He says with even dimmer eyes. Zodiac clears his throat as Alex jumps in surprise. Someone need a bell… "That's the part of letting go. It's letting go and watching what you love either burn, or thrive." Zodiac states with compassion. He actually means it. "Well yeah… But she doesn't need me anymore!..but...I still need her..." His voice hid more secrets than anything. A brother hides a lot to stand stronger for the family. "Look man… Just because she found love, doesn't mean all of it lost you." What Zodi said… Hit harder than any spear. It meant more than just that. It was a fatherly thing to say. Comfort is nice for once.
