Derek-
"Time of death 3:07"
You sighed and bit your lip as Dr. Shepherd called the time of death on your patient with the depressed skull fracture. You quickly excused yourself and went to scrub out. Once you had finished scrubbing out, you walked into the OR floor hallway and slid down the wall and sat down on the floor. You could feel yourself slowly falling apart, fearing that you would be fired because of a loss.
You put your head in your hands and sat there for a what felt like hours. You heard footsteps next to you and felt someone sit down next to you. Without taking your head out of your hands you whispered, "Please just go away." You waited to see if the person next to you would leave. After a while had passed you looked up, "Dr. Shepherd I'm, I'm so sorry." You stood up as quickly as possible and went to walk away.
"(L/N) wait you're not going to lose your job because of this, you weren't even lead surgeon."
"But what if I do."
"What if you went out with me instead of worrying?"
Alex-
You sighed looking at the MRI results of the 12-year-old, "Well it's what I thought, pituitary tumors; it doesn't look too severe though," You turned to Alex, "I'm going to go update his parents, you coming?" Alex nodded and you two walked to the patients room. Once you entered the room, the parents immediately stood up and faced you. Putting a smile on you face you started to tell them about the tumors, "Since the tumors aren't currently pressing against his optic nerves or overproducing hormones, surgery isn't necessary as of right now. That being said I would like to keep him here for observation, I will stay in town until I'm sure that surgery won't be needed.
"Does this mean that I won't be able to play soccer for the rest of the season?"
You turned your attention to the boy laying in his bed, "I don't think you'll be able to, but I'll come into your room every day to watch some soccer with you." You smiled as you watched the boys face light up. Excusing yourself you walked out of his room. Alex walked up behind you, "Nice job in there."
You smiled, "Thanks."
"You know, since you're gonna be in town for a little while, maybe we could go get drinks sometime."
Mark-
You followed behind Dr. Robbins as she skated down to the pit. Putting on a trauma gown you listened to Dr. Hunt explain the incoming trauma, "MVC with two families, three adults, four children and one infant on the scene." Arizona looked up from tying her trauma gown, "Wow, that's a lot of tiny humans. I'll take the infant and one of the children. Karev, (L/N) you take the other two kids." You ran down to the trauma bay. The EMS started to speak as he unloaded the patient, "Alyssa Denton, 10-year-old female, head lac and a nearly severed ear." You took her to a bed and turned to the intern behind you, "Can you page plastics and neuro for me."
You finished assisting Dr. Sloan as he reattached the young girl's ear. The two interns took her to recovery and you sat down to finish up some of the paperwork. Mark sat down next to you with his own stack of paperwork. "So, (Y/N) (L/N) how do you like Seattle?" He asked. I smiled at him, lifting my head from my stack of papers, "Actually it's been really good." He nodded and you kept doing paperwork in silence. Before long however, Mark spoke to you again, "So (L/N) you single?"
"Sloan are you hitting on me? Because if you are at least make it a date."
Mark nodded thoughtfully, "Ok then, tomorrow night at nine."
Jackson-
After grabbing a sandwich from the cafeteria, you looked around to see if the residents were at the usual table. Seeing they were you started to walk and sit down next to Jackson. Ever since you came to Seattle Grace Mercy West he had been one of your best friends along with Mark and Derek. As you got closer to the table you could hear Cristina practically yelling:
"Come on Avery, grow a pair and just ask her out already!"
You smirked and sat down next to Jackson, "What are we talking about?" As you spoke, Jackson started to cough, choking on the water he was drinking. You patted him on the back and after a minute he turned to talk to you, "What do you think the ideal first date is?"
"Ok umm, probably a movie and lunch or something like that."
Jackson nodded, "Hey, do you want to go to the movies on our next day off?" You smiled as you realized what he was doing.
"Sure."
Owen-
After a night shift you sat in the residents lounge with Meredith and Alex. You were laying down on one of the benches when Owen popped his head in the doorway and addressed you, "Could I borrow you for a minute Dr. (L/N)?" You nodded and got up from the bench. As you walked out of the room you could hear Alex laughing from behind you. As you turned around to face him he picked up the pillow that you were laying on and chucked it at you. You caught the pillow and threw it back at his head before following Owen out.
When you were out of the residents lounge you turned to Owen, "What do you need Dr. Hunt?"
Owen took a breath and spoke to you, "(Y/N) I really like you and I was wondering if there was any way you'd consider letting me take you to dinner sometime."
You smiled and nodded, "Of course"
