"Ok, so who's this guy again?" Daniel asked me for the third time in the last five minutes.

"I told you I don't know him. He's new."

Daniel mulled over this for a few seconds before letting out a sneeze. His cold still wasn't getting any better.

"And he's got a project with you in history? I haven't heard about any project."

"Well maybe it's because you've been to sick to pay attention? Mrs. Binnerfold hasn't announced it yet we're ahead of the curb."

Daniel looked as though he was about to ask another question but I raised a finger to his lips.

"No. Bad Daniel! No more questions, I mean it."

My joke works, he laughs and doesn't ask me any more hard questions.

We sit in his Truck at the parking lot of our school. School ended about ten minutes ago, me and Daniel came straight outside.

After my run in with the boy from the sea I had decided he was a lunatic and that I needed to get far away from him. That feeling only lasted a few minutes however. After a brief mental breakdown, I started to think about everything that had happened so far. How he had pulled us from the ocean. Had he not been there all of us would be dead right now. Then there was the look in his eyes earlier. A depth, a sincerity was there that seemed very familiar. I hadn't pinpointed it at first but then I realized it was the same look my Dad had in his eyes at the dinner table just the other night. He had been so intense and something about the way he spoke told me that maybe my instincts had been wrong. That maybe I should hear this psycho out.

God I hope you're right about this Madison.

"Hey is that the guy?"

Daniel's question breaks me from my thoughts.

Well there's no going back now.

"Yea that's him." I say while hopping out of Daniel's truck. "I'll be right back. Just gotta..um see what he wants to do about the project."

"Rightttt." Daniel replies.

It's fairly obvious that he doesn't believe this meeting is about some history project. I guess I could have picked a better class, one that me and Daniel didn't share.

Oh well.

I still feel bad about continuously lying to him. He knows something is off with me, he knows me to well. Still I can't bring myself to tell him everything yet. Besides if Mr. Psycho isn't as psycho as I think and I actually am in danger, I need to keep Daniel far away from it.

But in danger from what? What's going on?

It's the first thing I decide to ask when I approach the sexy psycho. He's standing at the top of the steps that lead into school. Making me climb them is already a strike against anything he has to say.

"So what's all of this about? What's going on?" He turns at the sound of my voice and smiles when he sees my face.

Woah...those pearly whites.

"Are you always this foreword? I was beginning to think you wouldn't show I've been waiting here for a few minutes."

"I was waiting with my friend, guess I didn't see you up here. And nope just when it comes to strange guys who wear black hoodies at the beach during summer."

To my surprise he smiles again at that.

"Waiting with a friend? A boyfriend I wonder?"

What? Why does that matter?
