True to my assumption Daniel does indeed vomit all over his Dad's desk.

Oh God that's gross.

Luke recoils, turning to face the bookshelves. "Is your boyfriend alright?"

There he goes again. Daniel is not my boyfriend...that's...just no.

I choose to ignore his boyfriend statement because I am worried about Daniel, well that and because I refuse to feed into his little game.

"Yea Dan, are you ok?"

It was probably a bad question, seeing as how his whole face had gone green and he was now bent over the desk looking as though he was trying to recover. He's always had a weak stomach, ever since we were kids. Eventually though, he's able to settle down into his arm chair.

"I'm fine. Just a summer cold." He follows this up with a sneeze as to confirm his statement as truth.

Yea, ok Dan.

Then in a matter of seconds Daniel goes from green in the face to a curious child.

"If all this is true then, man I've got a hundred different questions for you. I mean Atlantis, wow."

He looks and sounds so excited I have a hard time not laughing at him a little.

"What's it like down there? Do you guys have houses like this one? What's Poseidon like?"

Luke, who still seems disgusted at the sight of Daniel's vomit recoils even more at the sound of Poseidon's name.

"Unfortunately we don't have time for questions redhead, time is-"

Don't you do it..

A sudden look of realization flashes across his face before he can finish his sentence.

"Um, we're running short on time."

Good job!

"Red head? Um, I do have a name you know?"

Luke ignores Daniel completely and turns to leave the room. He pauses in the doorway.

"Time to go."

Daniel turns to me. "Is he serious?"

Yea pretty serious i'd say.

"I can't leave yet! I need time. Time to think, time to pack. Besides who's gonna take care of Jenny while I'm gone? She can't stay here all night alone."

Oh no..

I had completely forgotten about Jenny, Daniel's younger sister. Daniel was completely right, she was only eleven there was no way we could possibly let her stay the night alone. I can't imagine how much trouble he'd be in with his parents if we did.

"Time to think? You don't get time to think! Didn't you hear a word that I said? We are being hunted!" Luke screams across the room.

Wait, we?

At first I think Daniel is going to apologize and look for a new suggestion to our problem. That is the Daniel way after all. In all my years of knowing him he's never been one to scream or to add to confrontation. But today he surprises me.

"Yes time to think! Someone here has got to do it! And my sister is just a little kid I'm not leaving her here alone, or did you not hear a word I said?!"

Woah.

I've never seen Daniel like this. It was kinda, well different.

Luke is fuming. He's moved across the room and past me as to get closer to Daniel. Both of them are face to face eyes locked the only thing separating them being the desk. The quiet last for far too long so I decide I better say something before things escalate even further.
