Feelings

     As we opened our envelope and see the list inside we were a bit happy because we saw that was accepted to every school. We just didn't know if the other one did.  We closed our eyes, put the letters in front of each other. Before we opened our eyes we made a promise to remain friends forever even if we become a little distant. We opened our eyes and that's when... we saw the lists...
        We got accepted to all the schools we applied to!! We would be going to the same school! We were static, we got up so quick and hugged each other. I became so overwhelmed by so many emotions. I started to cry, I was so scared that we would end up in different schools and lose our friendship. I could see Namjoons emotions right through him. He was also thinking about the same thing. Our parents came and gave us a huge hug. The atmosphere was happy like nothing could ruin this for us. After we managed to calm down we started thinking which one would we choose. It had to be chosen in order of best graduation percentage, which one had good extracurricular activities along with sports for both genders but also close to our neighborhood. Our parents started laughing and told us to think about that later because they wanted to take us out to eat to celebrate our good accomplishments.
     We went out to eat at our favorite restaurant there our parents kept talking about how they were of us. "I'm so glad you guys met two years ago. You guys have been such an example to other students. You've truly earned the acceptance of those schools. Kim So-Hyun I want to thank you for making sure that my son was up to date his classes. I've seen your friendship blossom into something amazing. I truly hope you guys remain close friends for a very long time. Congratulations guys!" Said Namjoons mom. Namjoon started blushing and told his mom to please stop being so sweet, His mom giggled. After that, my mom also got up to make one of her long speeches. Thank god this one was short and brief. "Oh my gosh, where do I start? Am just so proud of you guys! I want to thank you Kim Namjoon for being such an extraordinary classmate and friend to so-Hyun, because of you I've seen her bloom out of her shell. Make to new friends and the most amazing part, you helped her get such amazing grades. And I want to thank your parents for raising such an amazing kid. I hope you guys remain friends in the future. Cheers!"  After their speech, the food came and we eat until our bellies couldn't handle any more food. Our parents paid and later we got dessert at Namjoons and I favorite dessert place. At the dessert place, our parents left to go home and left us alone. He was telling me about his goals for this journey we're about to embark. He talked about how he wanted to get a job and gain money to save and buy whatever he wants but to also treat me to places. "What's that feeling again?"My heart started beating so fast again I felt like I could hear it. I felt like butterflies were flying in my stomach. My face got so warm I could feel myself blushing. Namjoon has this smile on his face I haven't seen before. It was different, cute in many ways. "Wait! Why is he leaning in" I thought to myself as I saw Namjoon lean into me? Is he going to kiss me? What the heck! I closed my eyes and I felt Namjoons hands on my neck and something cold laying on it. As I opened my eyes Namjoons face was not in front of me it was next to me. I tried looking to see what he was doing and what was the cold thing on my neck. " stop moving dummy, your hair is getting in the way" Said Namjoon. I held my hair up and put my hand on my neck to feel a necklace. Ah, there we go! Perfect!  Said Namjoon. " what's this? Why did you get me a necklace and with what money?" I asked him. He told me how he's been looking for gifts to give me if we managed to get to the same school. He asked his mom for money, but she told him that if he did chores around the house she would give him a weekly allowance. So that's what he did, he saved that money to buy me a graduation gift. I was so touched I started getting tears in my eyes. I asked him why would he spend his saved money on me when I didn't get him a gift. He said he just wanted to see me smile. When he saw the necklace he thought of me, so he's been saving money for 3 months to buy it for me. I quickly got up and hugged him. I thanked him for the necklace and tried to pay for dessert but he wouldn't let me. My parents gave me some money for dessert so I was able to pay for it but he wouldn't let me. He told me that from now on he would be my best friend, protect me and take care of me until we die. It was so cute and weird hearing it from him, he always gave away the tough image to others but was always really sweet to me. I don't know why it sounded different to me this time. As we got up to leave he turn me around and fixed my hair. It sounds like a regular thing. But to me it felt different, I was so young at the time I didn't realize I was developing a feeling for him.

    I got home and went to speak to my mom about what was going on with me and why was u feeling this way towards him. I was curious to know what it meant. "Mom? Can I talk to you? I don't think I feel well." I told her. "Oh, honey, what's wrong? Do you have a fever? Your face looks so red". She said as she rushed to me, putting her hands on my face. I told her what was going on with Namjoon. I told her how I felt with him around. "Aw, you're blushing!" She said. "Blushing?" I asked.  She began asking me a series of questions to explain to me what she meant by blushing. "You were blushing sweetheart, that's when you like a boy and you get flustered when he does something nice for you or compliments you." She said. "Like a boy? What? I like Namjoon? No way!" I yelled. "If you say so" she replied. I went up to my room to process what my mom has said and everything that happened today.
   As I get to my bedroom my doorbell rings. My dad gets the door and I hear a familiar voice, as I duck my head a little, to grasp a glimpse of the person at the door. I noticed it was Namjoon, "honey you have a visitor" Said my dad.  When I walked down the stairs I can clearly see Namjoon in the entrance, as I approach him I see he's hiding his hands behind his back. When I get closer to him he pulls out a bunch of my favorite flowers ( sunflowers ). " omg what's this?" I asked. " it's for you! I've been growing them in my backyard since their you're favorite" Said Namjoon. My face immediately got red and hot, this time I knew I was blushing. The flash of my moms phone snap me back to reality. " joon! You shouldn't have! Omg they're beautiful! Thank you!" I said as I hugged him. We hugged for a good couple of seconds until I remembered my dad was still in the room starring at us. I quickly let him go and took the flowers to put in water. My mom snatched the flowers from my hand and put them in water herself. I invited joon in and went to watch some tv in our family room with my dad, my mom, Namjoon and I.

   At this point my mom and dad had a feeling we were into each other. A couple minutes went by when my mom got up and told my dad they needed to go to the store to get some groceries. "We just went grocery shopping last week, we got everything we need" said my dad. "Just come with me. You guys stay here will be back in a couple of hours. Behave!" She said as she winked at me. I could imagine what she was trying to do, but I tried to remain calm. I tried to tell her we can go with her but she insisted that we stayed home. When they left Namjoon and I were left in the living room by ourselves. This wasn't the first time we were left alone in the house, but this time felt different. Namjoon was sitting right next me focusing on the movie, when he suddenly took his hand and put it around my shoulders pen the chair. My heart started beating like as it was going to jump out of my chest. I tried to focus on the movie but all I could think about was knowing If Namjoon felt the same way about me. A couple hours past and the movie ended, as the credits roll namjoon starts stretching and asks me what do I want to do now? " I mean we can go to the park for a walk if you want? We haven't visited the park together in a long time." I said with my blushing tomato face. "Ok sounds good to me. Let's go take a jacket it's going to be a little chilly" he said. But my stubborn self didn't listen.
  As we head out, we catch my parents coming in. I tell them we're going to the park for a walk. My mom looks at Namjoon and smiles she gives him a little nod and tells me to be save and tells Namjoon to take care of me. Namjoon gives her a little giggle and says sure thing mss.Kim.  You know I would protect her with my life if I had to. These words stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
