Liverpool, 3rd September 2065.

«Today’s the day» mumbled Albert to himself, looking at the ceiling of his room with amazement. His eyes couldn’t trust in what they were staring at; his mind couldn’t stand such a responsibility and honor.
For the very first time in his life he could feel proud of himself, proud of all the efforts made by learning all that science and physics theory old books he had found when he was a child, in the attic of his house. His parents told him they were from the last century -from 1965 exactly-, a memory of an old world that should be carried on anytime: there were also some science fiction novels, and other books for school. Albert Stemson at the age of 11 years old, collected them very jealously, as if they were a so important treasure where it would be easy to find another one kept inside, if it were dug as deep as possible.
His knowledge in the scientific field became impressive since he had started studying on his own, after leaving school, when he made himself a promise: “to lie about our close-minded world to demystify every one’s disbelief”.
No one used to believe he would have a future to be remembered for, but just a past to be forgotten about, if he kept that idea going on in his head.

The proof that they were wrong was just in front of his eyes, that moment; it was something that every scientist had never believed in and considered impossible to recreate until the first half of the 21st century. Joy and happiness made his eyes flooded by tears, which didn’t delay to fall from them.

He then wiped his tears from his eyes and in disbelief mumbled: «I can’t believe I’ve just done it». He stared for a bit at his invention, as if it was so fascinating that he couldn’t get enough of exchanging satisfied glances at it.

He finally added: «I made the past and the future no longer a dream, and the present no longer a lonely reality».

His invention consisted of a time-machine, a car able to time-travel. He chose as machine model a very old one, from 1965: an Aston Martin DB5, license plate LLO84OD.
This invention would lead him to deserve the primacy on every scientist before him.“Albert Stemson, a 25 year-old scientist, who broke against the physics laws in 2065”, the scientist fantasized about how his name would be remembered in history, when his invention would be given a shout out in the world. The only thing he was sure of was the awareness of being responsible for bringing what everyone would still call fiction, into the science, making them an inseparable thing.

How much he had learnt from Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking to refine their theories and observations about the topic; one night, three years ago, in a full-time studying session, he found out that, effectively, driving the car at 88 miles per hour, where 1.21 gigawatts of power are required, thanks to a flux capacitor, it would time-travel and allow anyone find himself in another decade, whatsoever decade you want, from the past and from the future.

In two years’ time, Albert had built the flux and then installed time circuits, connected to a display, put in the typical place of the car radio, that shows the destination, that can be chosen thanks to some commands next to the display.

On that day everything was set in the right place and the car was just ready to be used for the very first time. The time-machine seemed just like an ordinary 1965 Aston Martin, in order that no one in past, would be able to recognize it as time-machine coming from the future. All the time circuits were hidden in a very meticulous way, that it was only necessary to start the car to switch them on automatically. Albert got everything ready to time-travel and put some things he could use during his magical tour in the past, in the back of the car: a camera, some old money and clothes that were used that time in England, three plutonium stockpiles -that could be used, in case of emergency, to get the car 1.21 gigawatts of power, absolutely required to time-travel-, and a futuristic card able to recognize people, to identify their age, their occupation and whatever you want to know about them (e.g. their clinical records and things like blood type, potential disease they would develop at their old age). He planned to travel every fifty years in the past, starting from a century ago: first, he would time-travel to 1965, and then to 2015; at the end of the trip he would come back home.

The goal of the trip in the past was discovering the old lifestyle, 1965 people’s habits, and doing some studies on the quality of life, comparing it to the one in 2065. Time-traveling each 50 years, collecting the right information, would give him an interesting panoramic view over the whole technological progress through the history, and would let him easily deduce the eventual benefits and disadvantages that technology brought through the years.

Obviously he was aware of all the consequences, derived from any eventual mistakes: he recommended to himself neither to let anyone talk to him, nor leave his car in wrong places, nor lose anything.
Determined in facing the new adventure, the scientist set everything ready, put on some old clothes, in order to never attract someone’s attention, and chose the dates of destination on the display of the time-machine, that would change automatically when he would find himself in the past: 1° 3rd September 1965; 2° 3rd September 2015. Then he started the car engine, connected to the time circuits, and, leaving his garage, the car quickly flew away and dissolved into the air.

Then I wanted to warn you that English is not my mother tongue and I know my writing probably might not be that good; I'm writing this fanfiction just to improve my English writing skills and because I really love The Beatles and, as result, writing stories about them. So if you catch some mistakes, incorrect grammar, please let me know. This would mean a lot to me!
Thank you all and see you soon with the next chapter that is going to follow our protagonists' POVs.
