Note from author: Sorry it took so long to update! A lot of stuff has been happening lately and i just haven't had the time to really do anything...and on top of that, my inspiration; Monty Oum (Creator of RWBY, fight animator of RvB and mad many other amazing animations) passed away last week and he was my inspiration. He was one of the reasons that i wanted to make this story (In case i haven't mentioned before, i was planing on making this an animated series like RWBY or RvB) So i dedicate this chapter- no this entire story to Monty, after all he is the reason i made this story.
In loving memory of Monty Oum ( June 22, 1981 - February 1, 2015 )

Serenity smiles and shakes her head as she continues to scroll through her phone for a dinner recipe. Since neither of them know Kaito's exact birthday they celebrate it on the day she found him: February 22nd. "Hmm...We had pasta the other night...maybe steak?" She asks herself as she opens the fridge and looks through it "Damn...I have to go to the store later to pick up stuff for his cake." Serenity mumbles to herself as she closes the door and then writes down the list of groceries that she needs. Since Kaito just left for school, she has a quite some time to make this cake. She slips on her running shoes followed by her light grey jacket, she then quickly grabs the shopping list and heads out the door and to the store.
Serenity was in and out of the store in about an hour. She decided that she would make a chocolate and vanilla marble cake with vanilla icing. She already had the icing at home from the week before when she made vanilla cupcakes for a local bake sale. She happily hums a tune as she walks home with the small amount of groceries, occasionally she greets one of her co-workers or one of her close friends. As she nears closer to her home, she spots small movement in the nearby alley. Curiously, she peers into the alley and sees four small figures with glowing yellow eyes hiding in the darkness. The darkness of the alley makes it hard for Serenity to see what the figures really are. “Probably just some alley cats..." she mutters quietly as all eight glowing eyes stare directly at her, almost as if they were examining her. Creeped out by the figures, she quickly walks back home in hopes that they didn’t follow her. She looks behind her to make sure before she opens the door to the house, she sees that there’s nothing there and she lets out a sigh of relief. Serenity walks into the house and then heads straight for the kitchen. A small puppy trots into the kitchen upon hearing the door open and close, he sees Serenity and then barks happily at her. "Hi Zehn! Did you miss me?" She smiles and leans down to pet the puppy, who happily licks Serenity's face. Zehn is Kaito's birthday present from Serenity, she managed to hide the puppy from him in her room the night before when he went to bed. Zehn is a nine month old Husky/German Shepard mix. The puppy was a bit more energetic than most dogs his age, however he gets tired really quickly from using all the energy. Zehn barks at Serenity again and she lightly laughs as the puppy beings to run in circles trying to catch his tail. "Kai's going to love you...you're just like him..." she says as she stands back up to put some of the groceries away.

Serenity spends the next couple of hours making Kaito's cake perfect. Occasionally Zehn would run into the kitchen with a chew toy in his mouth and every time, Serenity responds with "Not now Zehn, I'm almost done..." Eventually she does finish making the cake, she had just finished icing the cake when Zehn perked his head from his resting spot on the couch and then starts to bark loudly at the ceiling. Serenity sighs and sets the icing on the counter, "What is it now Zehn?" she asks in an annoyed tone, Zehn doesn’t respond to her and instead he growls at the ceiling. Curiously, Serenity looks up the stairs and then hears a loud crash. She quickly runs upstairs to investigate the noise, she peers into Kaito's room and doesn’t find anything out of the ordinary...except for his dirty clothes that were all over the floor. "I’m going to kick his ass when he gets home..." she mutters to herself as she walks into her room and carefully looks around. Serenity's dresser had fallen over and her clothes were scattered around where it had fallen. "Ironic...now both of our clothes are everywhere..." she mumbles with a slight chuckle as she stands the dresser back up and puts the clothes back in the right drawers. She turns around the exit the room, however she’s stopped by four small figures with pitch black skin, glowing yellow eyes, along with razor sharp claws and teeth. Serenity hears the front door open and then she screams as the figures lunge at her.
