I took a step back, sucking in a deep breath as he kept his eyes on me. Never once taking a step closer, that made me cringe and maybe just maybe he realized it because he moved so fast that within a second he was standing in front of me. His one hand holding my cheek while the other one held my back, he leaned his forehead against mine with no coldness in his eyes. Instead, there was only warmth and love, that same emotion that took me as a prisoner so long ago.

"Trust me Lúa."

The way that he pleaded those words brought tears to my eyes, the way that he was looking at me made me feel like I was that child again who everyone feared. The wolf, on the other hand, didn't have a problem with him, she sat right next to him wagging her tail.

"I do."

I smiled softly up at him, knowing that I would even follow him to the ends of the earth if he would ask me. He helped me changed, frowning as he took in the damage that had been done to me. We walked out of the shop toward an old minivan, he helped me in making sure I was comfortable before walking toward the driver's side. The ride was comfortable even if I didn't know where we were going, I was just happy that I was nowhere near that place anymore.

"You must be dying with questions."

"Yes."

He smiled at me, making my stomach flip as I smiled back.

"What do you want to know?"

"Who were the two people that came in first?"

"Lúa..."

"I need to know Macroft, I know you came in later stopping them...I don't know how but I do."

"Then you also know who they were."

"Tell me."

He let out a grunt, rubbing the back of his head in agitation. The way that his face crunched made me sit upright, turning in my chair to have a better look at him. I picked up the dark circles under his eyes and some marks that have almost completely disappeared, but fresh marks were peaking out from the turtleneck that he's wearing.

"Macroft..."

"You should know that whatever happened was nowhere near your fault, the people that I work for took actions without my knowledge...I'm sorry Lúa."

"But you work for..."

"They are not your real parents and that was one of the problems, even if they raised you well."

"What do you mean?"

"Have you ever wondered why you are handling this so well as if this was just second nature to you?"

I nodded my head slowly, my hand reaching for his. Even though I know I'm supposed to be freaking out or maybe screaming about this, it somehow felt more real than the rest of my life. He gave me this knowing smile, lifting my hand up to kiss it.

"Macroft?"

"You're part of a different world Lúa, one that your adoptive parents have tried to eliminate for a long time. As far as I know, you are the daughter of King Luke van Helsing, the strongest Alpha through all of history..."

"Alpha..."

"I'll get to that, let me start from one point alright?"

He waited as I frowned, trying hard to calm this heart of mine before nodding.

"There's not a lot said about who your mother is, the wolfs have been keeping that secret under tight wraps so I can't give you more information from that side. What I do know is that you are a crossbreed and your DNA leans more to your mother's side and that has been their interest for a long time, I have no idea how they stole your memories or if it is possible to get it back. But your father is someone that no hunter ever tried to mess with, ever since the hunters found you there has been a war and hunters has been dying in numbers that they even went as far as experimenting on themselves. I haven't seen any of them yet..."
