??? Pov.
In this world were humans are most of the time completely unaware of how they coexist with mythical creatures such as Werewolves or Vampires – for an example, of course, there are more than just those two and even hybrids – there exists a legend of soulmates.
The legend is more treated like a fairy tale that parents read to their children and is even lectured - as well as treated as a child story - by teachers in kindergarten. The legend says that every soul is just the half of itself and their goal being to find their matching other half to be complete.
Every soul splits in to half before they find a body to reside in and life in this body in hope to find their other half.
It says that your soulmate is like a best friend, a sibling, a caring parent and a lover at the same and that literally means your soulmate can be the most precious person or even mean the world to you.
Sadly there isn't any accurate description of how it feels to look into the eyes of your soulmate – which is the only known way how to be sure that a person is your other half – because no one who found theirs was able to describe it with words.
But that doesn't mean there aren't any books about Soulmates out there!
Two of those – which are my absolute favorites since my mother read them to me when I started to understand words – are 'The shadow to your light' and 'Taiyo to tsuki'.
The book with the title 'The shadow to your light' is a happy Childs fairy tale story that is about two young people that can't really exist without the other and go through many adventures together until they settle down and life a happy ever after.
The second book is one of the sadder and much more dramatic stories.
It is about two half of a soul that even though they desperately want to be with each other never having the chance to so they always die and get reborn over many years without getting to be together as one.
They always have to life as only a half and their bodies always felt a never ending emptiness that can't be filled with anything.
After 100 life lines, that they lived separated and never as one, god took pity on those two pour halves and decided to let them meet and fall in love with each other at a full moon night.
They felt complete for the first time and spent their lives together in total bliss.
But god couldn't always help them, so he decided that once every 50 years he would take the two halves and get them together at a full moon night as pretty and magical as their first.
There is a myth about this story that those two halves of a soul actually exist and are a special rare case and it says to be even rarer that they remember or even feel the missed love of their former 49 life lines.
Even though the second story seems for others to be a sad tragedy it isn't so for me.
I am not saying it isn't sad that those two halves of a soul have to life through 49 life lines until they can finally be together – that is indeed very saddening.
The reason I don't see it as a sad tragedy and more of a very romantic love story is that the 50th life line is the life they meet and are destined to be together.
Just think about how strong their connection would be when they meet!
After 49 lifes' of longing for the other they can finally be together to make up for the years they missed.
