After reluctantly leaving the pegasus in the clearing the pair had continued walking, both feeling more at ease about the planet, whilst Valkyrie spoke fondly of her old pegasus Aragon. They had eventually grown tired of the days walk, but neither admitted it.
"How long is a day on Berhert?"
"Twenty four hours. Same as earth."
Carol studied the position of the sun in the calm, blue sky. Valkyrie noticed and did the same.
"If I had to guess I'd say it's seven o'clock." Valkyrie said.
"I was thinking more eight." Valkyrie sighed in response.
"We've been walking through this forest all day. There's nothing here. We should rest."
Ahead of them the trees were beginning to become more spaced out and the grass grew taller.
"We're nearly at the edge of the forest. Where are we gonna camp for the night?" Carol asked.
"Follow me." Carol started after her without hesitation, wondering where they would end up.
The pair stopped at the edge of the forest whilst Valkyrie scanned their surroundings. A look of recognition suddenly flashed across her eyes and she grinned.
Almost leaping to life, Valkyrie started into a determined march and called back to Carol over her shoulder.
"Hurry up." Carol smiled at her sudden energy burst and jogged to catch up.
After a couple of minutes of walking Valkyrie slowed to a stop. Carol was confused until she noticed the wooden shelter infront of them.
It was in plain sight and yet it blended into it's surroundings so easily. It was a small rectangular structure with no windows. There was a thin piece of grey fabric hanging from the roof that acted as a door.
Vines had entangled themselves around the shelter, like they were strangling it. It looked as though it had taken a few weeks to make. Maybe even months.
"You made this?" Carol asked, impressed.
"Yeah. From the trees around here. Took a while."
"I thought you said you never settled."
"I didn't. This was temporary."
"It's a lot of work to go to just for a temporary stay." Valkyrie shrugged and walked towards the shelter.
Inside was exactly how she left it. A tree stump acting as a table was centred in the middle with an empty bowl on. There was a collection of blankets in the corner for an uncomfortable bed and empty shelves along the wall.
Carol silently entered behind her.
"I never thought you would be so good at house building."
"I'm good at a lot of things." Valkyrie replied simply.
"Sure. I have flying and fighting. You have babysitting and house building."
"First of all, babysitting?"
"Thor." She stated.
"Hey! And second of all, who says you're a better fighter?"
"Me. Why do you wanna challenge that."
"Definitely!" Carol strolled towards Valkyrie with a relaxed manner.
"No swords."
"No powers." They were both confident. Both wanted a challenge.
"You're on."
