**6 months later**

Valkyrie slammed her door shut with a swift kick. She sauntered down her hallway and sighed at her boring routine.

It had been a couple of weeks since she'd last seen Carol, she'd told Valkyrie the night before it would be another month until they could be reunited.

Thor hated it almost as much as she did. Once Valkyrie had told him about her relationship with Carol he had been so overjoyed he actually left his house to greet Carol every time she visited. Sometimes Valkyrie had to sneak Carol into her house at night to avoid being confronted by Thor. She pretended to be annoyed about it but Carol knew Valkyrie secretly loved sneaking around.

Every time she saw Thor he would chant 'let's go lesbians, let's go' and that drove her crazy.

Valkyrie suddenly froze in her tracks as she approached her living room. She listened carefully to every noise in her house, trying to pick up on what was out of the ordinary.

She was alert and ready for the clumsy attack from behind her. Valkyrie spun around to be faced with a sharp knife inches from her face. Hitting the joint of their wrist, Valkyrie grabbed the knife and pinned the intruder to the wall.

Valkyrie looked up to see who's knife was a hairlength away from their own neck only to be met with the eyes she had been longing for. Carol.

"You've been practising." Valkyrie stated, containing her excitement.

"And yet I still ended up against the wall." Carol grinned back.

"Maybe you need a new strategy."

"I think my backup works fine." Carol smirked as she leant closer to Valkyrie and kisses her lips passionately.

Valkyrie's grip soon loosened on the knife so she tossed it to the side carelessly and wrapped her hands around Carol's neck, pulling her closer.

"I like your strategy." Valkyrie said through kisses. Carol pushed off the wall and led them to the sofa on the opposite side of the room, not once breaking the kiss. The pair collapsed on the sofa and Valkyrie slowly leant forward, resting Carol against the arm rest.

"I missed you... A lot." Valkyrie said.

"I missed you too."

***

Valkyrie sat waiting patiently for Carol on the roof of her house. She stared up at the stary night sky above her small town and smiled with contentment.

Ever since she had met Carol Valkyrie had found herself stargazing almost every night. She could easily imagine Carol zooming across the stary sky.

Valkyrie was suddenly interrupted from her thoughts by Carol landing on the roof with a bottle of beer in each hand. It had become an unspoken routine that every time Carol visited the two would sit on the roof with two beers. They always talked for hours about their lives and each other. Carol loved listening to all of Valkyrie's stories about her life as an elite warrior for the throne and everything after.

Carol handed Valkyrie a bottle as she sat down next to her on the edge of the roof. Valkyrie took out her knife and swiftly flicked the top off and did the same for Carol's.

"You know I can do it myself right?" Carol smiled.

"Yeah, and I also know you love my tricks." Valkyrie smirked, handing the bottle back. Carol continued to smile and gazed at the sky, her hair falling across her face when she looked at Valkyrie again. Valkyrie instinctively brushed the stray hairs behind Carol's ear, making her blush.

"Your hairs getting long." Valkyrie stated, admiring the long, blond locks.

"I was actually thinking of cutting it. What do think about a pixie cut?"

"I think you'll look hot whatever the hair style." Valkyrie said honestly. Carol continued to blush and looked away to try and hide it. "And I bet Thor would approve." Carol threw   her head back and laughed.

"I think he's our number one fan."

"Definetly." Valkyrie agreed

"Oh I have some exciting news!" Carol almost squealed. "So I got another mission earlier today." Valkyrie groaned in response.

"That sucks!" She complained.

"Hold on. It's Xander. It's under attack. There have been a lot of casualties and there's currently hostages being held. I need to help them but Xander's too far away for me to fly on my own. I need a ship - and a co-pilot, someone I can trust." Carol said grinning. Valkyrie turned to her with a smile across her face, knowing what she was implying.

"Wanna come?"
