I never knew that I'd be going to go high school.
Middle school seemed to take years to get out. First period seemed to last forever. High School is a place you do not wanna be. Trust me.

I jumped out of my seat when the bell rang. When I made it out into the hall my friend was at his locker.
"How'd it go?", I asked.

"Well it's something new so maybe I'll get use to it later," she responded.

Nyla was one of those girls who didn't like to be around a lot of people. It gets really awkward for her for some reason.

"Where's Darren?", she asked grabbing a few sheets of paper out her locker.

"Don't know I haven't seen him since we got here".

"Do you think he went to another school?". "He did say his mom didn't know about letting him come here."

"I don't know why," I said with a grouchy tone.

"Hey guys."

I turned around to see Darren. I was a little confused. I hate when that happens. I'll talk about something or someone missing and then they'll show up.

"Oh hey Darren," Nyla said excited. "We were just talking about you."

"Why?" He said confused.

I said, "Doesn't matter". "When did you get here?"

"Just a few minutes ago." "I had to go to the library to get my schedule."

"Really who's your home room?" Nyla said looking at his paper.

"Mr Wilbur?" Darren said slowly and disgusted like as if he wasn't looking forward to his class.

"I don't like math."

The bell rang.

"Well," I said. "We gotta get to class."

I walked home today. I don't know why I just did.
Three weeks of High School and I still haven't learned anything new. Just boring old lessons from 8th grade. Stuff like the Pythagorean Theorem in math.

I went up my porch stairs. Suddenly I hear a strange growling noise. I figured it was my dog. I walked around to the side of the house that led me to the backyard. I struggled to get the gate open as if someone had jammed it. I finally got it open.

"Roof."

My dog was barking and facing the woods.

"Steve?" I said.

He ran to me and rolled over onto his back.

"Hey buddy", I said rubbing his belly. "Let's go inside."

I hear the bushes rattle. I looked so quick I almost broke my neck. I assumed Steve was just barking at a rabbit again. He hated rabbits. We went on inside and I gave Steve some dog biscuits.

The night was cold. Nyla had been trying to get some sleep but for some reason she just couldn't. She heard a loud crash outside. She screamed as the whole house shook.

The power went out. "What the heck was that?!"
She jumped out of bed.

She opened the screen door to the backyard. She shivered as the cold wind ran down her spine.
She saw a light in the woods. There was no chance she was going out there. But she was curious to know what it was.

The walk to the woods was strange. Like as if she was in one of those horror movies. The object Nyla saw was something she had never seen in her life.

It was the size of a truck. It had colorful glowing lights around it. On the inside it looked like some kind of submarine controls. Nyla backed away as she thought about calling the sheriff's department. The object had a door on the side.

Nyla walked over to it and began to tug on the handle bar. But it seemed to be stuck. When she thought about leaving to get her shovel. The door opened.

"Hello?" Nyla said with a shaky voice.

A light beamed on the ship. Nyla blocked her face shutting her eyes. The light beamed so bright it could pop.

The light turned off. Fading away. And Nyla was no where to be seen.
