Darren was woken by a loud crash from outside. He opened his eyes slowly and calm as if he didn't hear anything. He sighed, removed the cover and hopped out of bed.

He peeked from his blinds to see nothing but darkness. So he grabbed his flashlight and opened his window. Then he heard a knock at his door. He ran downstairs to see his mom swing the screen door open.

It was Javon.

"Let him in mom" said Darren.

"And then BOOM, It shook my whole apartment maybe even the whole complex," Javon said over exaggerating.

"Do you think Nyla felt it?"

"I'm pretty sure the whole town felt it," said Javon.

"I know, we should go get Nyla and try to investigate it," Darren said grabbing his coat.

"Who are we the ghostbusters," Javon said with a chuckle.

"No, were the mystery gang," Darren said sarcastically.

"Wait from Scooby Doo?"

"Come on!"

Darren and I rushed down the stairs. Darren stopped Me so his parents couldn't see us. His parents were eating in the dining room. They were watching one of those old 1950's cartoons on a box tv.

We spead pass them and flew out the door. Darren closed the door slowly clinching his teeth together. We both ran out into the street like some lunatics.

I knocked on the door out of breath. I ran so fast Darren was still behind me running. I heard the top lock unlock. I see Nyla's father when the door opens.

"H-Hey Mrs I mean Mr Kendrick!" "How are you?"

"What do you boys want?" He said in a deep voice.

Darren stopped running to catch some air.

"Oh my god!" He said.

"We're looking for Nyla."

"She ain't going no where." He slammed the door on my foot.

I screamed in pain as he opened the door to let my foot out. I removed my foot and he slammed the door again.

"Moron," I said limping towards Darren.

"What do we do now?" I asked him.

We crept to the back of Nyla's house. I climbed up the pole onto the roof where her window was. I looked into her window and saw an empty room.

"She's not in there."

"What?!" Darren said in aggravation.

"This is strange."

We hear a loud scream come from the woods. I swear the whole world could've heard it.

"Nyla!" Darren said running into the woods.

I jumped from the roof and broke my thumb. I got back up and kept running. I was running so fast I thought I was sonic for a second.

We made it to the middle of the forest. It was dark and there was a road between the trees.

"Nyla!" We yelled frequently.

"Where are you?!"

The walk seemed to last for miles. We looked everywhere for Nyla. We walked so far we made it to Dr. Jacobson's cornfield. It was already ten o'clock and I was hungry, tired and had to get home.

"I don't think she's out here." "What if she's at home in the bathroom and we just didn't see her."

"Darren, I know she's not in there because when Nyla goes home she's stays in her room all day."

"Well I'm hot and aggravated." "My feet hurting so bad I could chop em off."

"Look!"

Something was in the cornfield. I began to hesitate about going in there. Darren was already walking that way. I wanted to tell him to come back but he was too far off into the field.

I said "Darren?!", but I got no answer. Again I yelled "Darren!", still no answer.

Something strange in the sky caught my eye. A weird light was shining on the field. Darren was still out there. I ran into the maze shouting Darren's name.

I heard Darren scream. His screamed sounded like he was being attacked by someone. His scream sounded so horrifying I could scream. I soon see him float up towards an object in the sky.

A ufo?

"Wait, No!" I ran towards it screaming.

"Stop!"

Darren was gone. He was sucked into that thing. I was so terrified to see it disappear into the sky knowing that Darren was in there. I walked home.

Trembling in fear. I made it towards the end of the woods. And suddenly flashlights are shined into my eyes. I couldn't see who were flashing them until one guy turned off his light.

They were policemen.
