"good morning ladies and gentleman, we are about to take off to our destination to seoul. please ensure that your seatbelt is firmly fastened. our flight to seoul will approximately take about 7 hours and 15 minutes. thank you for your attention." the flight attended announced.
it was finally the time that my family and i can go back home to korea. after all that moving, we can finally go back home. we moved to canada when i was about ten years old, then to america at the age of fourteen, and lastly we're going back to korea and i'm about to turn eighteen soon in a few months from now.
my parents agreed for me to focus my studies in seoul so that's one of the reasons we're going back. the other is just that they have work there.
"how are you feeling, sis?" my big sister, eunbi, poked my sides.
"nervous but i'm actually really excited. it's been years since we lived in the place where it all started." i smiled remembering the memories we had when we were little.
eunbi scrunched her nose in disgust, "ew you sound old."
"but you're older than me." i smiled at her.
"pfft whatever..." she went back to a normal position on her seat, "are you excited to meet your soulmate there? i am!" she enthusiastically said.
"hahah yeah..." i responded and looked out the window.
everyone, yes everyone, will get a ring with their name carved on the inside part around the age of sixteen. it has a small orb on it which is hard to explain... we don't know when but we will finally know who our soulmates are when the same colour appears on both of our rings. it doesn't have to be a plain colour, it could be a mix of two colours or more. eunbi still haven't had her ring (jewelry to be exact) change into another colour and she's five years older than me!
"what are you going to do once we arrived to seoul?" i asked her, changing the topic.
she thought for a second, "hmm i'm not sure... well one thing that i want to do is pursuing my dream on becoming a dance teacher or maybe a choreographer. i'm still thinking about it. what about you?"
i gave her a slight hum, "i'm probably going to see if they have a photography club or i could find a part-time job if mom and dad allows me too." i sighed.
"hey you don't have to worry about that. just focus on your studies for now." she gave me a reassuring smile.
"i guess you're right."
