In The Process

Saturday

 Saturday [10:00 AM]

I wake up at around 10 oclock which isn't normal for me, I look around and I cant find Kate, I get up looking for Kate and I hear my shower running with, sobs? I walk into the bathroom "Kate? are you ok in here?" I ask "n- yeah..." she replies stuttering. "whats going on?" I quickly ask obviously worried "I'm fine Ace" I told her I'm not leaving till she told me what's wrong. "it just hurts..." is what she tried to tell me "what does"" my arms..." she cried "what's wrong with your arms?" I asked. she put her arms out of the shower showing a bunch of rows with small cuts that were bleeding. "Kate... hurry up and get out of the shower and meet me in my room, ok?" I say as I start walking out "ok.." I hear from behind me. 

     I get changed into a crop top and some sport shorts and lay in bed waiting for Kate to come out of the bathroom. around 5 minutes later Kate came in my room with her arms and thighs cut.  "come here Kate" I sighed "are you mad?" she stuttered I explained to her that I wasn't mad because I knew what it felt like "look...lets get those disinfected" I say as I steady Kate.  Kate stays still as I start cleaning the cuts and putting ace bandages on them.  When I finish wrapping her wounds I pulled her into a tight hug. "don't worry, I'm here, I know how hard it is to stop that... but he's not here to hurt you anymore. okay?" I say holding her closer, all she does is nuzzle into my shoulder and just mumble a bit.

           I look at my clock and it says 6:30 PM. " I'm going to go make dinner, come to the living room and watch something ok?" I say as I start walking out. Kate follows behind me sitting on the couch and putting on a show, and I make lunch for us both. I kept it simple with some beans and rice. I serve us both a plate I give her the food and sit down next to her. I ask if its good and she gives a simple yes. Kate and I finish so I grab our plates and put them into the sink, not washing them though. I walk back to Kate 

"what do you wanna do Kate?"

"I don't know..."

"neither do I, I'm trying to have you pick, we can bake, cook, cuddle, watch a movie? up to you"

"uh... a movie and cuddle?"

"that's fine with me, what do you wanna watch?"

"uhm.. maybe... OH, Deathnote. if that's ok with you.?"

"yeah its fine with me."

        I make some popcorn putting on the show. I lay down and open my arms, as I do she jumps on top of my nuzzling her face into my chest. something seemed off about her but I didn't want to bother her about it too much so I stayed quiet. as we creeped onto episode 3 of the anime Kate had started to doze off, she held me close as if a koala would hang to a tree. She had finally fell asleep and I turned off the T.V falling asleep with her on the couch.

TIME SKIP [5:45]

      I wake up feeling a heavy weight on me. "I don't remember having a weighted blanket..."I think to my self as I open my eyes seeing Kate on top of me, I realize I fell asleep with her on my chest, "shit. what time is it?" I say all a bit too loudly.  Kate wakes up from my talking.

"Oh... sorry... I didn't mean to wake you" I apologize

"Don't worry about it... I was having a nightmare..." she said almost as if she was scared.

"Oh... ok."

     Kate gets off of me and looks at the time. "it's almost 6:00 o'clock" she said. I look up 

"you hungry?"

 "Not really"

 "ok, I'm gonna go take a shower, do you need anything before?" 

"no"

"ok, ill be out in like half an hour"

"alright, I'm just gonna watch something." 

          "ok" I say as I walk to the bathroom, I trip down to my binder and boxers (Ace prefers these sort of things, their pronouns are they/them and they stay on the masculine side) I look to my thigh seeing my old scars, tracing over them with my finger. "damnit... I was fucked from the start..." I look in the mirror. damnit... I turn the water on a very warm temperature taking the rest of my clothing off trying to avoid looking down, I step into the shower washing my body and my hair, I hear the door open, "Kate? is that you?" "yeah, I needed to go to the bathroom... " she said "alright, that's fine." I said being chill. She finished going to the bathroom and left. when she left I stepped out of the shower and dried off, when I finished I reached for my clothes and, "crap... I didn't grab anything..." I walk out with a towel around my body, I walk to my room seeing Kate laying down on her laptop "I forgot clothes..." I said she looks up and blushes. I grab T- Shirt, some sweatpants, boxers and 3 sports bras. I go back to the bathroom and change. I layer the 3 bras to still bind a little and then I put on the rest of the clothing. I walk back out and lay down next to Kate.

 "you hungry yet Kate?" 

"yeah, a little bit"

"what for?"

"uhm. I don't know. you decide."

"ok, ill go make some chicken, hows that sound?"

"good"

"alright"

          I go out and make some chicken, I season, batter, fry, You get the point. I finish making dinner and call Kate to grab dinner.  she comes out with her hair wet, I guess she took a shower while I was cooking. I hand her a plate and sit down at my couch eating a little bit and putting the rest in the fridge. "I'm gonna go get ready for tonight, OK?" I say "alright" she say as she finishes her dinner. I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth, clean my face, and go to my room, I lay down waiting for Kate. as I'm about to pass out Kate lays down next to me close. I was abnormally tired, and it was cold and without thinking I wrapped myself around Kates torso. next thing I knew I felt hands wrap around my back. I fall asleep after 7minutes.

1113 words!!!! this wasn't planned btw, sorry this took so long to update... I've been pretty busy with some things ill try to update again very soon, should I try to make these longer???? I feel bad that I'm not giving you guys much to read and on top of that only posting once in forever... anyway, hope you enjouyed this chapter and hope you have a good morning, afternoon or night wherever yoy are and whatever time it may bee.
