<This following excerpt is from the finished report on the disappearance of Eric Harker. The report was written by Carl Oaks, a retired officer turned private investigator.>
Eric Harker, a self employed man, aged 25 was officially declared missing on July, 6, 2010. His friend, Claire Richards, and Eric’s landlord were the first people to have discovered that Eric had gone missing. She would later say in the interview that she had not seen or heard from Eric in about 2 month. She also said the only reason she had not tried contacting him earlier, was because an altercation they had. The investigation of Eric’s apartment showed that Eric had not left his home in months. The windows had cardboard and newspaper covering them. Interestingly Eric had soundproofed his bedroom and his closet. This would later on be explained through his journal.
Eric’s room was filled with trash and scribblings. Later upon inspection his bed would be discovered to have traces of blood, excrement, and urine. His bathroom disturbingly was covered in blood. The wall were smeared with it and the bathtub was filled the brim with it. This is quite perplexing because the average person has 1.2 to 1.5 gallons of blood. The bathtub contents would later be found out to have animal (specifically a dog’s) blood and Eric’s blood and some trace of water. This would suggest a suicide attempt but the body of Eric has not been located. This leaves only murder or attempted suicide as the explanations.
Eric probably had suffered a mental breakdown and broke all communications with the outside world. Eric probably had fits of psychotic outbursts. This would explain the dog’s blood in the tub and a disappearance of a neighbor’s dog. Eric’s landlord would later add that Eric had seemed extremely sleep deprived and disheveled. Eric’s neighbors said that we hear light thumping on the walls and floor. The case of Eric Harker is a strange one indeed. He appeared to have disappeared with no trace at all. His family, friends, and neighbor had not seen him at all. The footage of the cameras outside his apartment didn’t show him leaving at the time of his supposed disappearance. This rules out a kidnapping, his car was also at the apartment. This makes this case still open even though it is likely Eric is dead. There just isn’t enough evidences to make any decisions.
